“I love that they rent canoes and paddle boards here! It's one of the few places I know of locally who does that. Their lake is a nice relaxing place to paddle. It's small, but that's really nice for me. It's relaxing, and the price to rent the canoe is less than $10/hour. One of my favorite activities in the evening.”

“I typically order via GrubHub, but had some summer interns this year that I wanted to take to lunch, and McAlister’s was the place of choice. Apparently the male interns had been visiting quite often. It was a very clean restaurant, nice employees and the food was just as good as it is every time I order it, I just had the experience of having them plate it and bring it to my table this time. 😉 And I ran into a friend’s mom that I had not seen in months and got a chance to get one of her signature hugs. If good people like that love the place, it’s definitely another good reason to come back.”

“After 18 years of sedentary living this overweight 56 year old decided it's time to take her life and her body back. I had experienced Pilates many years ago and remembered how good it made me feel, so I decided to try it again. I am four (4) weeks in now and it is the most wonderful thing I have done for myself in almost 20 years. The instructors are kind, compassionate, patient, but also encouraging me to push (gently) a little more and a little more. It is the hardest thing I've done in a long time, but when I walk out the door at the end of class (or get up off the floor after a virtual class at home) I feel amazing. There are many different classes and all the instructors I have experienced are wonderful. I highly recommend pilates and I highly recommend Better Bodies Pilates for the journey.”

After two solid months of classes; I most highly recommend Ruthann for an upbeat session—either in person or virtual. Her attitude is uplifting and energy contagious. She exudes positivity. Another favorite teacher is Lindsey on Tuesday evenings. I enjoy the organic flow of her classes & her voice is so calm. Whatever you choose, give Zen Zone a try if you desire true yoga experience in the Lees Summit area.”

“Love this local Lee’s Summit yoga studio! This is a wonderful place to practice yoga. They have the best instructors that know what they’re doing and truly love yoga. I have been to different studios in Kansas City and was not as impressed. Nice variety of classes and they are always adding more. I also went to the raising the vibration DJ thing outside they did last week and it was a blast. I love the new studio location, as they have an outside area that we can do classes outside when the weather permits.”

Throughout my time here I have bounced all around in fitness level and weight (including having a baby) and there is never any judgement from anyone, just positive support to reach whatever my goals are at the time! “I've lived here since October 2018, there were some issues with repairs from the last tenant, but I brought it to management attention and they were fixed right the way. I did not rent an upgraded apartment, so it wasn't perfect, but it was tolerable. The apartment was clean, I requested hard wood flooring and it was done for me, I was very happy. I never had a problem with the neighbors, yes, almost everyone has dogs, more than one some of the residents, but if you don't like dogs, move somewhere where they don't allow it. Dogs bark, so what? Maintenance crew is great, very helpful and polite. I only had couple of maintenance issues, but they were solved the next day. They upgraded the key access to a smart device as well. They are trying to make this more modern and ad up to date technology. It is safe and neighbors are nice. The grounds are clean and constantly being cleaned and up kept. I don't know why there are bad reviews, but as far as I am concerned, I've been happy here. The only issue i see is parking for guests, which is only on the adjacent street, not inside the property. One problem is that people here have more than 1,2, or even 3 cars per apartment, so how much space is everyone expecting? Be reasonable! Jasmine in the office is very professional and pleasant, and she cares about the residents. She is always helpful and always makes sure your issues were solved. Communications with the tenants is constant and they let you know when they do repairs or upgrades so everyone is aware. Overall is a nice place to live. Cons: no central air and heat.”

“Legacy Park Community Center offers a fantastic gym and pool with fun things like waterslides, a splash pad, and a lake with paddle-boarding available. Some of the best parts of this facility are inside, like the pool and the gym and the basketball and squash courts, but the outdoor space is truly amazing as well. The lake is large enough that you can get a good exercise in on a paddle-board, and it has the bonus of being on e of the few places in this area where Paddle-Boarding is an activity that anyone can do. The outdoor space also has a nice running and biking trail which circles the entire place, and there is ample free parking. The only downsides that I see with this facility are A) The price, which is relatively high even with all of the amenities, and B) The gym requires you to be at least 16 years of age to use the free-weight section of the gym.”
