Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area

Mountain bike and hiked to Upper Carver Rapids couldn't make it to little Rapids Downstream, as it was still too overgrown. Wanted to see what the river looked like below 800 cubic feet per second / below 4 ft. The pic of Sand Creek shows a large sandbar running perpendicular to the course of the creek and parallel to the river. I also found the effigy mounds located off of Johnson Slough Loop, created by the Terminal Woodlands Indians (AD 500-1200 ), No doubt from Chief Mazomani and His band of Wahpeton (Eastern Dakota) Indians who, would inhabit "Little Rapids" as a Summer Camp . The Bottoms ooze mysterious energy..........

There's a path and it goes through the woods... Ok fine... the paths are very long and made for horses or other trail riding or long hikes. It looks like it's been mowed recently but there's multiple small trees that have recently fallen so be careful.
