“Hy-Vee only gets a 4-star rating today and that will probably be the highest they will be able to achieve from now on. The loss of one star is due to the $85.00 extra hold they want to place on your debit card in addition to the purchase price of the gasoline you buy. An example is: you purchase $50 in gas, Hy-Vee charges your card $135. That's a hold on $85 of your money that you no longer have access to. Hy-Vee says your financial institution can release the hold or will eventually. A person should not have to make the extra effort to get their own money back for something they didn't spend it on. I use a credit card for gas so this isn't an issue for me personally but I certainly can see where this could cause a lot of financial problems for a lot of people. Hy-Vee, normally you are on top of things with customer service, but you got this one wrong.”
