“I pulled into the red arrow motel on Plymouth Road in Dixboro, Michigan in need of an inexpensive hotel room. I met Judith the owner. Very affable, very nice, and very matter-of-factly. She showed me a room and without hesitation, said it was “hospital clean” and she said it with all confidence. Now I’ve been on a journey for two months staying in cheap hotels and I honestly spent three days cleaning one of them and never got a chance to do my work (I'm an Artist and I need a clean environment to work in. Because I’m a clean freak (not to be confused with a germaphobe). I had to wipe down a table because of my clean tendencies. I was going to dry coffee cups on there. There was nothing on my paper towel!!! Amazing! The place really was "hospital clean"> So, just for grins and giggles, I did a little white glove in the bathroom and bedroom... It’s all hospital clean as well. Also the place is full of nostalgia. It has these old cabinets, old wood paneling, old fixtures, old lights, old fans, but there are no smells. There was even a little three wick candle that I could use in the room that smells nice. Based on the rate paid for four days… I got the best value of my entire ordeal at hotels, and I would include a couple of the major chain hotels that I stayed at. Thank you Judith!!! “Pool is amazing, hot tub is perfectly hot, sauna is good. Room was fancy, but the tv was too low, needs to be Mounted on the wall. the bidet was not functional and stunk like sewer, needed to be cleaned and working batteries in the remote. Shower in the room was phenomenal, loved it.”

“Even though I haven't been there in about 6 years I knew both the owners their daughters and son. I lived there for many years when the mom and dad was alive. They were the best people you could ever want to know and they're daughter Jill's husband Brian was my caretaker at Rainbow rehabilitation after I was hit by a drunk driver walking back to the hotel from work. They were easy go work with and they never bothered you about money if owed for a couple of days. I've owed for two weeks when I got sick and they let me pay it off as I could when I had extra money Everyone loved the owners especially Millie the mom. It's the only hotel on Michigan Avenue that I will stay in.”

“Great place to relax, talk about traveling, chill, and watch a pretty back yard. Marta was an excellent hostess during the couple months I stayed there, and she was more than helpful in making the time between my leases delightful. The place is a little off the beaten track, has free parking, and is very safe. It is right by one of the main bus lines, so getting around without a car is quite easy, and a 15-minute bike ride (she has bikes!) can take you downtown. She is very respectful and is a seasoned traveler. We had a lot of fun comparing notes! Highly recommended!”

“We loved our stay here. We had some bad luck with our truck breaking down when we got to the campsite but the staff was awesome. Sam and Mike were so helpful. Sam literally drove me into town to pick up the part I needed to fix my truck. They also offered a ton of help as well as let me use some tools. This is the best campground I have ever been to. “The night manager was terrific! We had a problem with our room and she didn't hesitate to move us to a different room and took some off the bill. The breakfast was fantastic with several different choices and the food was nice and hot, also fresh. A big plus for me and my wife. The rooms were clean and tidy. Carpets were clean and fresh. The overall experience was one to be remembered and will gladly stay again!”

I was very disappointed in the way it was previously managed as it seemed the place was not cared for & I had difficulty when trying to ask for needed things to be done. The current managers are sincere owners and are doing a tremendously super job. They have made many improvements to the community: removal of dead trees, trimming them so as not to damage homes, paving of roads & parking spots etc. A great blessing that they also have someone available for emergency situations and assistance with your home. I am grateful that is a quiet, safe place to live. There are new homes here that add to the beauty of the place.”

“Firstly, I would like to say that Cathy is the best “sales” person I’ve ever met. You can’t even really call her sales, because she is the COMMUNITY MANAGER who typically gets to hand these situations off. BUT she is doing the job of 20 employees easily and doesn’t even break a sweat. Nor complain. Just greets you with a smile and you can tell she has pride in her community and wants to see it be great. I explained to her that I made the decision to move in truly after our first conversation just based on how we vibed. But when I turned the corner on Whittaker, and realized my sons school was at my right. And pulled into the community and noticed the SUN WAS VISIBLY SHINING BRIGHTER I was sold. We are renting now, but as soon as we get the green light, we will be purchasing our first home as a family! And I’m honored that this is where we’ve chosen to start our next chapter. If you are considering a forever home, or at least some comfort before you buy, WHITTAKER OAKS is what you want 🥰”

“Nice comfortable rooms with ample work desk, comfortable office chair, and well equipped kitchenette. Provides a good selection of television channels including HBO and a decent gym. Walking distance to mall and many restaurants and only a couple miles to downtown Ann Arbor. Complimentary laundry and clean laundry room are great perk and one of main reasons I choose to stay here for extended stays. Front desk staff are also helpful and provide excellent customer service.”
