“Silver Spruce is a true hidden gem. The facility is in an old farmhouse on a back road in Grafton. The space is charming and enriching. It definitely spurs the children's imagination and ignites a passion for learning. Inside you'll find countless hands on activities which engage the senses and teach practical life skills, as well as books and instruments. The children are encouraged to touch and explore. Even with all these things the school still has a nice comfortable feeling of home. The yard is filled with beautiful landscape and an abundance of flowers. The large play yard is filled with more inviting things for the kids to really dig into. There is a "Messy Kitchen" where many experimental concoctions are made of dirt, water, & twigs. There is a large sandbox and a greenhouse. There is a climbing structure with swings and slides and a lookout fort. At the bottom of the yard you'll find the resident goats Buck, Lola, & Tootsie which the children feed the leftovers of their daily snacks. This yard is also one of the state's rare Nature's Classroom. It really is perfect for a child to be lost in exploration. I'll be honest, as beautiful as the school is, I was nervous about sending my little girl off to an unfamiliar place. The teachers have really made this place a safe, loving, & and nurturing place for her. They really get down onto the children's level and connect with each one. She loves her teachers and is excited to go off to school everyday. Ready for an adventure. When I pick her up she is dirty from playing and had a sense of fulfillment from all the things she did that day. My 3 year old daughter is just finishing up her first year at Silver Spruce and I cannot say enough good things about this school. I whole heartedly recommend it.”
