Yellowwood State Forest

This State Forest is perfect for those wanting a quiet hike without much company. You will be completely surrounded by a deep forest of trees your only companion the lake or others brought along. If choosing to hit the Scarce o’ Fat trial be aware it does not go completely around the lake and when the campgrounds are in sight head to the road to complete the loop. Riders be aware of multiple trees down on Y trial far in.

We absolutely loved driving through Yellowwood in the cold winter.. beautifully snow covered made it seem majical. Had to get the Jeep out on the slick roads..got so many excellent photos of our day.

First, very practical. Clean restrooms, plenty of clean water spickets and trash bins. Plenty of space with nice fire pits and grills. Plenty of space to kick back and enjoy company or just relax. Lots of trails by a beautiful lake. Good price.

Great for primal camping! Bring what you think you will need. Outhouses r here if you don't mind the bugs, bring your own tp, no guarantee there's any in them! Great open area for star gazing also! It's quiet and there is a playground! Love this place! Come almost every weekend???? hope to see y'all there????

Yellowwood is a beautiful park. The lake is wonderful for fishing and kayaking and there are benches along the lake for picnics. The campsites are primitive sites. Very nice, some even have lake access for putting in your kayaks. Lots of wildlife to enjoy!
