“This is a really nice campsite. Its a rugged with outhouses and no showers. But we still had a great time we spent two nights here with the kids. It was alot of fun and we expect to return to the site. You can make reservations and they were really cool about us showing up late. We informed them of our situation and they were accommodating. Very cool.”

“Super nice people clean place, the humidity was rough but it had been raining for a few days. Nice bath house, knowledgeable workers with great camping suggestions for the passer by campers. The best part was the fireflies and they were everywhere, we would come back if in the area again.”

“The Brookdale facility of the McHenry County Conservation District is the District’s main administrative facility. It houses the administrative staff, planning,facilities, and the District’s Police Department. The structures for staff are a gorgeous old set of buildings. The surrounding property is a beautiful, natural outdoor area great for a stroll at lunch, a long walk, or to sit and just enjoy nature. The staff there are great! Friendly people and true, passionate environmental appreciators.”
