“Today (10/19/18), the park district had an event for the Trunk-or-Treat. My wife and I took our two daughters and they had a great time! Everything was set up terrifically and it came out great. We once did an Easter egg hunt a couple years ago with our oldest daughter in which she loved. We will continue to keep coming back to these events as long as they have them. “This place is nice for a place for a walk. I like watching the trains go by and seeing what they are chugging along. There's weird bugs that you can find too and a lot of deer! There is a lot of poison oak and ivy so if you go off the path be careful. When exploring here I found some cool stuff around. Metal detecting here would be a good idea. When we were here there was a wedding going on so it seems to be a good spot for that as well! There's also a good spot where you can set up a hammock and just listen to the sound of nature around you.”

“Love this place. Real cool lake and a high point next to it for some distant views on a good day. Also there's a path that leads to the campground down the way. Campground has amazing tent sites that are pushed back enough into the woods for just a bit a privacy. The rest of the place is for RVs, but the tent sites are amazing and underused... Which is perfect”

“Great place for family outings, large gatherings (picnic pavilion), trail riding or hiking. Lots of wooded and prairie trails to walk the dog(s). A bit marshy in spots when it rains and be sure to take bug spray in summer or those skeeters will get you.”

“Nice place to watch storms and enjoy a sunset. The trails are rarely cut so don't hope for hiking this one or easily getting to the Kame. Decent for star gazing as well but make sure you are clean since the county Park police will show up after dark to make sure you are not shooting up.”
