“This place is super nice! I needed a dress for a wedding (which happens pretty often since I rarely actually get a nice dress). I generally dislike shopping...but this shop is so easy to like! Everything was in great condition, and up to date or classic. There were a number of nice dresses which also would have been good for work. Coats, lovely boots, and beautiful jewelry and accessories. It is fairly expensive for a resale shop, however the items for sale are almost new and are brands which cost a lot.... also, the slightly bolder items actually were beautiful and not-run-of-the-mill. So I would go again for sure.”

“Alexis and June painted an old tired sideboard (that I hated) and now it's my favorite piece in my dining room! She also made an amazing table out of an old piece of wood which I love as well. I've received several compliments on both pieces. During 2018, I visited Alexis's shop on Green Bay Road about a dozen times to discuss various projects and furniture deliveries and I have never witnessed her speaking poorly to her employees. Her painting/construction work (and June's work) is wonderful. If I had unlimited funds, I would have her paint all my tired old boring pieces.”

Chuck and his assistant visited my house before construction started, again when the walls were framed in and then twice more during cabinet installation. I hadn't heard of Calico, but was told about this place when I was searching for a quality fabric to use for reupholstering my dining room chairs. It wasn't in proximity to my home, as a matter of fact, it was quite a drive, but was well worth it! Their selection was more than I anticipated and I finally decided on two fabrics. Before leaving the store, I was confident with one of the two and made the purchase. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was on sale also! Never having covered any furniture prior, I purchased more than enough and headed home. After my project was completed, I was proud of myself and thrilled with the outcome. The fabric was absolutely stunning! I highly recommend Calico in Wilmette!”
