“My daughter has been with Shirley since she was about 18 months old and she is now 4. Best thing we ever did was find her. My daughter is so happy there and has learned so much! Her vocabulary is so advanced for her age and I know it has a lot to do with Shirley spending so much time teaching the kids. “My son has been going to Oakhurst Learning Center since he was 2 years old, so almost 2 years now. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They helped with potty training, developing and learning new skills, and communication. I would get pictures and update throughout the day through the app. They provide a weekly meal plan along with a structured daily agenda of their activities by the hour. My son first started with only saying a few words and after the first week we noticed a significant change in his vocabulary, singing lots of new songs, and was a lot more interested in how to communicate. He was at an in-home daycare with younger kids who he didn't get much interaction with. I feel extremely safe with my son going to this school as the staff really do care about the kids like they are their own. Within the first day of attending the school all the teachers knew his name and made him feel right at home. I was afraid he wouldn't want to go back but 2 years later he is excited to go everyday to see his friends and teachers. I would strongly recommend Oakhurst Learning Center for any child especially the ones who are uncertain about putting their kids into a center after being home with them and having to go back to work. This is the place to go. You will not be disappointed with the care.”

“Very mixed bag, this includes different teachers, styles, programs, classes, and of course the ever changing classes. Just like any High School it constantly changes and is a different experience for everyone. But one thing that stays consistent is the well-kept and brand new architecture of the school. With it being built recently everything seems decently fresh. Except some rooms have wall paint chipping, the bathrooms have the usual graffiti, and the outside bench tables seem like they haven't been washed since last month's rain. Also, the interior hall floors seem to have some sort of crack lines, or stress indentations, i don't know if this was done on purpose for design or done in over time, but it gives it a very old and cheap feel which I'm not too crazy about. Of course the building exterior makes up for this, as it's very extravagant, and you could very clearly see where the architect was very biased. Desks and chairs are nice and refreshing apart from 90s style attached chairs and desk combo. I personally enjoy my time here, it seems like there's a little bit for everyone and almost anyone can fit in anywhere. Tons of activities, sports, clubs, and classes to take. Some teachers are more engaged than others, some are downright terrible and get fired for the 6th DUI, but it's all normal when it comes to High School. As a school rating, Largo is a loose 6/10. But as a High School, I'd say a solid 8/10. Pretty nice.”

“So far , both my 4 year old daughter and I have been overall pleased with our experience at the school , as she has been here for 1.5 yrs now. I live 1/2 hr away so I could easily go to Safety Harbor or Palm Harbor Montessori, which are both much closer to me. But I don't because for the same cost ( which is not cheap) or less, you get so much more at this school. Here your child gets to experience the school barnyard, learn swimming during the summer and learn Chinese from a teacher actually from China ( once in Kindergarten). The worldly things she learns on a daily basis at her age never ceases to amaze me. The teachers are very attentive & caring and get back with you quickly if you have concerns . They don't allow SUGAR at the school at the school, which is rare to find. It helps reinforce healthier eating habits and well as not contributing to hyperactive / ADD kids. The other parents I've met in her class and 3-5 year old grade level all seem like decent caring individuals as well. And the times I've volunteered at lunch, there's a good energy between all the kids and teachers. I can't save enough compliments about this school for the short amount of time we have attended. We hope to continue here even through the middle school as they have so much to offer. Wish I got to go here when I was growing up....”

As a kindergarten teacher, they more then prepare their students for kindergarten. My children have had the best head start as they start elementary school. I will be forever grateful for everything this school has done for our family. I wish I could capture the love and care they do in elementary schools. In my opinion they are the best preschool.”
