“Absolutely beautiful park, both camping and swimming. The bathrooms in the campground were kept very clean, and everyone was very pleasant. A bear did walk through our site one night, but no damage was done. The water wasn't too cold which made it even better. The tubing was about 8 minutes from start to middle, but from middle to end there wasn't much current, so we didn't complete the run but once. I wouldn't suggest going without a tube because some spots are really rocky.”

“This park and campground are immaculate and the staff is friendly and helpful. We liked the sites because they were spaced out with natural vegetation and trees providing a sense of privacy around each site. The fire pits were clean upon arrival and we noticed the staff actually sweeps out the landing pad area before each guest arrives. A real sense of hospitality welcomed us to this campground. We loved watching the birds each day - especially the pea hens making their rounds of inspection each morning! We'll be back!”

“Been coming here since I was a kid just one of the best hidden gems for locals. Whenever there is a friend or family visiting from out of town I always recommend to come here to the springs I consider this spring a lot better than wekiva as far as the visibility goes the water is crystal clear starting from the spring coming from the cave going all the way down to the end just a lot of fun places for you to have barbecue and just hang out or take a 2 and just let the stream take you down. It's all a natural reserve I think so it's a state park but you can camp there I think and there's so much you can do one of my favorite places in Central Florida”

Rock Springs Kelly Park

Address: 400 E Kelly Park Rd, Apopka, FL 32712, USA

Park

“Fun place! Expect cool water. Water temperature is an average of 68 degrees year round. Alligators, snakes, bears, bees and other wildlife. I recommend bringing a sturdy inflatable raft of some sort. Beware the rocks by the caves. Bring a lock or a waterproof pouch or bag for you belongings if you intend to go as a couple. We went during the end of February and it was crowded in the afternoon. Be sure to get there early during the summer months.”

“What a great little KOA!! Really big sites, super dog friendly with a really nice sized dog run, great pool area and really friendly staff. Yes the freeway is nearby so there is a little bit of road noise...but you get that to be conveniently located to a lot of Orlando attractions. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.”

Lake Apopka Historical Pump House

Address: Lake Apopka Loop Trail, Apopka, FL 32703, USA

Park

“What an enjoyable visit! Blue skies, nice drive, tons of fowl and gators, and a steady light breeze to keep everything cool! Around the pump house were at least 4 gators, some you easily walk right up to. And the view across the lake was clear and spectacular! I loved the blue water reflections against the greens and yellows of the marsh grasses, with hidden birds here and there... I highly recommend it!”

Indian Mound Camp Ground

Address: Apopka, FL 32712, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I love stopping off while paddling up and down the run. The run gets 5 stars, but the campsite less so. It is the best site along the run. Fire ring, benches, and a bear/ critter box for food and garbage storage overnight. Cons are the campsite is mostly dirt with sweet gum seed pods all over (i.e. spiny) making it difficult to find a nice place for a tent. Also, people need to learn to burry their toilet paper as a few feet into the woods in any direction is covered in used TP.”

“Great location for Kayaking. It's 15 mile River and we are allowed to Kayak or canoe as long as we want. This spring has place to swim and water is clear (not crystal clear). Great place for kids to swim as the water is shallow. Not a great place for snorkeling.”

Lake Apopka

Address: Lake Apopka Loop Trail, Apopka, FL 32703, USA

“For some reason there is a separate listing for the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. This is also known as the Magnolia Park Trailhead (that park is across the street and I didn't go over there). You'll find more reviews if you search for that. I'll leave my review on both. This is the new trailhead park for the east end of this trail. There is a decent amount of parking, water fountains, nice playgrounds, bathrooms that were small but pretty clean, volleyball courts, picnic tables, and probably even more stuff that I didn't notice. I was just there for a run. The trail is 14.6 miles and water is scarce! Make sure you bring enough. The first half mile or so is paved but becomes hard packed gravel once it leaves the road. There is very little shade but the views are beautiful! I ran out 4 miles to the Historic Pump House and back, (porta johns and picnic tables are there but no water) and saw countless types of birds, a cottonmouth snake and heard a gigantic splash from the swamp (presumably a gator). The trail sits between the lake and a swamp that is mostly hidden from view behind rows of trees. BTW - It didn't smell swampy when I was there. This was my "destination" run during a business trip to Orlando and I wasn't disappointed. If I'm ever back in the area, it would be fun to bike the trail (best to use a hybrid or mountain bike).”
