Tropical Conservatory

Park

“Stepping into this enchanted park, one is immediately whisked away to an exquisite blend of art, history, and nature. The crown jewel? The Bonsai and Penjing Museum, a true testament to the patience and artistry of horticultural finesse. Each bonsai and penjing tells a story, with their gnarled branches and delicate leaves whispering tales of ages past and the dedicated hands that molded them. But just as you're immersing yourself in this miniature wonderland, the grandeur of regal columns beckons. Standing tall and majestic, these columns are not mere structures but relics from the capital. Their stately presence amidst the verdant surroundings creates a surreal blend of the ancient and the natural, evoking a sense of timelessness. In every nook and corner, the park harmoniously marries nature's raw beauty with the indelible marks of human craftsmanship. A visit to this park isn't just a walk; it's an odyssey that traverses through time, art, and nature's finest spectacles. Highly recommended for both the casual visitor and the discerning connoisseur.”

Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavillion

Address: 1500 Anacostia Dr, Washington, DC 20020, USA

Park

“I love that there is an outdoor and free skate rink to practice without judgment. People have only ever been kind and provide great advice and experience. Especially on the weekends, someone usually brings a speaker and plays some skating music you can really feel and move to. Multiple skate parties happen from time to time. Parking is ample. Only complaint is it’s part of a National park and unfortunately is maintained like one. Only ever see fellow skaters taking care of and cleaning the place.”

World War II Memorial

Address: 1750 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024, USA

Park

“Excellent memorial! It is hard to honor an event that spans years and has people from every state and protectorate, but this memorial did a wonderful job in representing such a pivotal event. It was inspirational and, though not a 'moving' experience, its round design embraces the visitor and the quotes are uplifiting, helping us to understand the significance of this war. The fountains are beautiful and well situated and there is a great view of the Lincoln Monument in the distance. Turn and you will have an incredible, clear view of the Washington Monument on the Eastern side of this WWII Memorial. The best part, for me, were the smaller relief sculptures in the walls depicting various types of soldiers, war scenes and life on the home front. Take the time to look at each of these!”
