“I stopped at that little shop last last week and was hoping to find some good cold cuts for Easter. Boy was I surprised with selection of of Eastern European regional products like Ukrainian bread and Polish kielbasa. If you stop there you must try excellent, Belgian style chocolate from Poland. Staff was very helpful and I left the store with two large bags of product. It was the best Easter ever for me and my family.”

“Truly one of the nicest grocery stores I have ever had the pleasure of shopping at! The breads, desserts, sushi section, and meats are all wonderful. I would highly recommend the butter pecan cookies--they are probably my most favorite food! I was also very impressed with the sushi section...it was fresh and delicious. The prices are definitely a bit steep, so it is more of a treat to shop here (and less of a place for your everyday groceries....toilet paper, cheerios, etc.); it compares well with Whole Foods. However, if you are looking for something in particular, they are well staffed and stocked! I would highly recommend checking Citarellas out for some delicious finds!”

“In all fairness this is my only experience in this store for an issue I couldn’t get fixed at the ACME store on High Ridge Road in Stamford where I always shop. I tried my luck here and it paid off. Customer service means a lot. Who doesn’t want to feel valued? An item that I wanted to redeem with my reward points is not available at any ACME store in lower Fairfield County. The High Ridge store would not substitute a comparable item they had in stock, which costs exactly the same as the item offered on my list. The other ACME stores don’t carry this product either. I buy a lot which adds insult to injury. I drove down to Riverside and took a comparable package from their freezer to Ali in Customer Service. The difference was like night and day. Ali honored the substitute product and fixed the problem with professionalism and respect for the customer (me.). A little kindness goes a long way. Just for the record I showed Ali that I removed the product from my rewards list. Thank you Ali.”

“I hosted a group of 35 for Mother's Day this weekend and once again chose Palmer's for my catering needs. My guests could NOT stop raving about the food... and among the invitees is a catering company. I am so pleased with the quality, the quantity, and the gorgeous presentation. The artichoke chicken, crudité, and chips were the center of the attention. In addition, when I came to the store for pickup, the 2 employees I interacted with were exceptionally polite and helpful. My one issue is the massive door they keep open at all times, the entrance to which they blast heat (winter) or air conditioning (summer). Apparently it's to give the place the vibe of a farmer's market but wow, truly some end-of-Roman-times waste. No doubt they pass the cost on to the customer, and it's just a very anti-green way to operate.”

“An upscale supermarket in downtown Bethel. There are good deals to be had here, but the premium offerings tend to come with a premium price. That's not a bad thing as you can often find local produce and products depending on the season. They are nearly renovating the store, so it has the look and feel of a small Wegmans. My only gripe is that they got rid of the deli counter number system, so people are often milling around trying to figure out who showed up first and where the line starts.”

“I don't buy all my groceries here, of course, but what I do buy doesn't disappoint me. Its mainly produce, cold cuts, some dairy and bulk goods. Their produce is top notch, I really enjoy the organic carrots and salad mixes. I like the "sale" produce area at the front. Cold cuts are great, especially the in house kind, simply excellent. Sure, some extra price but you can tell the quality. I love the bulk aisle - there's some deals there. Especially in oatmeal, its significantly cheaper than the packaged kind and organic too. Plantain chips is a great addition to bulk items. I also like their baked goods area and their florist never disappoints. They had an awesome Amazon Prime deal for roses at Valentines Day - 2 dozen roses for $20?! (Something like that) It was unheard of compared to just about anywhere else.”
