Colonel Allensworth State Park Campground

This campground is beautiful and we have stayed here dozens of times. It is easily accessed from I-5 or I-99. Flush toilets, showers and a dump station are available. The sunsets are beautiful and birds are always present, even Sandhill Cranes in the winter. Freight trains run nearby, which some may find distracting, but I love to watch them go by.

This campground and state park is very clean, the employees are very nice and helpful. The community behind the park is very passionate about making this park better and more exciting to visit in the near future. There is lots of wildlife, clean showers and great building to tours.

Pretty cheap for camping 20.00 free bathrooms and showers and the spot i picked is shady nice park rangers and the town is beautiful I love it when my 3 days r up I will definitely be back to camp here agian 🥰

A charming spot to explore both African America history and life a century ago in the San Joaquin Valley. One gets an idea of how tough it was, and how determined early residents were. In addition, there's a nice campground, the only one for miles around, with ramadas, a shower, and within walking distance of the town. If you are into wildlife, the Kern Wildlife Refuge is but a half hour drive away, and expecially spectacular during the winter migration.

Thank you to all the staff at Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park: Angel, Benny aka Just a guy, Sara, and the Camp host Brenna, as well as the Ranger patrol for your kindness during my period of mourning. I have never met so many kind people in one small location. They not only take very good care of their guests, they take amazing care of the park. A wonderful hidden spot to visit. 6 Stars if I could.
