Beautiful campgrounds with a neat observatory. The bathrooms are ventilated, with flush toilets and actual lighting. There are showers that take quarters, but none of our group ever needed to use them. They were quite clean though. Quite close to the city should an emergency arise. Good for families. Beware of night hiking, as we ran into a couple mountain lions on a rather foolish excursion after dark. They're more scared of you than you are of them but you should still exercise great caution around wild animals. Stick to the daytime for such activities and you'll be fine.

Great paved trails! Lots of hiking routes for all levels of experience with well marked descriptions. Cheap to get in and plenty of options. Would recommend for anyone.

The sugar loaf state park is a beautiful place to visit. One of the best kept secrets of the park is the Robert Ferguson observatory and the planet walk. Many beautiful hiking trails and great campground facilities. Check it out!

Great camping. Super kid friendly and dogs are allowed but not off the paved roads which is a bummer. Super happy they allow dogs. The only downside was the bathrooms. Although updated, there were rings in the toilets indicating they had not been thoroughly cleaned in sometime.

We were at the group campsite. Isolated and beautiful place where there are enough tables for 50 people at least. Two spots for tent beside the observatory lead by a wonderful team of volunteers (book a night there for your group). Plenty of trails. Kids rode their bikes. Showers with quarters, on the family campsite (use your car). Two portable toilets. A bit smelly, no compost nor recycle bin: my only complaint :)
