“I went to JFK elementary school from 1964-1968 my first experience with school. I learned more at that school than any other school. I attended affluent schools in Dublin and Pleasanton, and had fun but didn't learn much! JFK not only taught me the basics but instilled a love of country as well. Different times. I remember watching Neal Armstrong walk on the moon from a classroom TV they set up for us and the "tuck & cover" drills that we practiced during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Teachers earned respect, Kids learned.”

My kids love their teachers and enjoy going to school. They are doing great and have received multiple awards for academic achievement. Huge thank you to their teachers for their hard work!!! “My daughter just graduated from this High School. She had initially started at John McCandles in the 9th grade, left and went to Lincoln High for one semester and did not do well. She returned to the new revamped school which joined with another school and was welcomed back. She loved the smaller classrooms, more friendlier environment starting from the office staff and teachers who were very attentive to students needs and progress on a weekly basis. She was very shy but joined the Leo club where she participated in community service activities,was active in the school's student store and later became president of the Green Club. She was unable to go straight from here to a 4 year college as there is no second language nor higher math classes offered. Although that might have changed. She will start at the Junior College level then transfer in two years. Parents, if you reside in this school district and your child is struggling from the 7th or 8th grade level please don't throw them in the ocean of a larger high school. Consider giving this school a try. You will not be disappointed!!!”

“Both of my children attended New World Montessori, and I couldn't be more pleased with the education they received. Curriculum is presented much like play and is constantly changing (about once a month), so the children have time to thoroughly explore each topic without becoming bored. Kids get plenty of time outdoors. They eat lunches outside, have a playground, grass and garden. New World Montessori keeps up great parent/teacher communication. We get frequent emails on various happenings at the school. Teachers are always happy to answer questions or address concerns before and after class. We love New World Montessori and recommend it to all our friends.”

“My son Jordan Page has been part of SEC for 3 years now. We love that one on ones pay direct attention not on cell phones, in uniform, interact and truly care about the children! Staff is even better! Mrs. Brown truly listen, goes above and beyond. My son has gone to several non public but when a coworker told me about getting him to SEC I called SUSD and said I wanted a transfer immediately. This was the best decision ever! This site does it for our children and it’s not about money. They work with our kids and want our children to succeed. Our 2 week there we attended a promotion/graduation event I cried which I have never felt a connection at any of the other non public school. We could see how much love, support and dedication they had for each individual. I am so glad I finally found a school site that loves our special children. Mr. Brown I am glad your vision has been a success and JD your amazing too! One last comment Jordan review was an accident he meant 5 stars! Again SEC we are glad to be apart of your school and you have us for 6 more years. I could write a book if I had more time!”

“Primary Years Academy is a wonderful place the teachers make learning fun, the staff will help us when we fall, The lunch ladies always prepare a nutritious meal that all students can eat, And lastly the Princable Does her job and has included more fun activities that teach students to be IB in school and when you’re out of school. I am currently going to a middle school and leaving this school was kinda hard sense I went here sense kinder garden and graduating as a 5th grader, but the school gave me and my classmates the support we needed. This school has not only thought me useful life skills along with the IB Standards but They also thought me that we must work hard for what we want. Example: When I was in 5th grade we had a big trip where we would go to Science camp and stay there for 4 nights and 5 days but the cost was so expensive. The teachers had us do fundraisers and they would also help out and we did this sense the ending of 4th grade and by the time we had to leave we had enough for everyone. This made the experience more better knowing that we had worked hard to be here. This was my experience here at PYA (Primary Years Academy) How will you’re experience be in the wonderful IB program?”
