Spring Valley County Park

Address: 8735 Jamacha Blvd, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

Park

“This park used to be a bit sketchy so I never walked there alone. But now thanks to the County and Sheriff Dept. it is now a very pleasant place. The grounds crew keep the park well maintained and clean. There are many events being held there for the community. It's nice to see families return and using this beautiful place.”

Sweetwater Lane Community Park

Address: 1312 Sweetwater Ln, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

Park

“Nice park in an alright area. The grass field is well lit at night. It is a sports complex so you will more often than not see several different sports teams practicing or playing on any afternoon, evening, or weekend. There is a walking path around the perimeter of the field and big shady trees make for a lovely stroll. Come check it out. But beware of the restrooms, and check them before sending your kids in alone, it is known that there are sometimes homeless individuals in the bathrooms there and I have seen hypodermic needles on the floor in the stalls before. Please use caution and lots of hand sanitizer if you must use the restroom facilities at the sweetwater lane community park!”

Lamar County Park

Address: 3180 Bancroft Dr, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

“The park has been taken back. It's not a campsite anymore. It's much nicer than I thought. Renovated with exercise equipment and pathways and bridges. Fun stuff for kids and pet owners too.”

Address: 12526 Campo Rd, Spring Valley, CA 91978, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“I've visited two years in a row and will definitely be back next year. It's such a heart warming experience, I love all the lights, carolers, Santa is THE BEST and the other decorations are so fun. The light tunnel was a great addition this year. Definitely worth the $15 and the drive, especially considering its going to a nonprofit.”

Bancroft Creek

Address: 2037 S Barcelona St, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

“Love these trails since in my backyard. Go all the time with my dog. Easy level unless you choose to go all way up to top of Dictionary Hill. If you follow trails south, crosses over Jamacha Blvd and links to trails near reservoir. Bikers used to ride a lot before this part closed a few years for construction, but its open again now. Keep an eye out for coyotes n rattlers tho, especially with small dogs. My midsized pip and I have been lucky so far but have seen many over the years ????”

Dictionary Hill Open Space Preserve

Address: Unnamed Road, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

Park

“Quaint little Trail. It was maintained by a hard-working volunteer community but since it has been in the County of San Diego hands for the last year it seems to have started to get more improvements. There are some washed out areas, the parts that still need to be improved to make it a safer path (uneven and rocky terrain) it's nice 15-20 min elevated hike.”

Dictionary Hill

Address: 2130 La Mesa Ct, Spring Valley, CA 91977, USA

Park

“I have been hiking in SD for 7 years now and I like to go to those hidden paths; well this is a gem. The entry is in the back of a quiet neighborhood and you will be you will be parking on a cul-de-sac. There are numerous paths you can take as you go further into the hike so be observant as you hike so you can find your way back. So much to explore, many views to enjoy, definitely recommended. Oh, and we just happened to come by a peacock on the drive there....what the...?”
