“This place is great. Multiple fields for both baseball and soccer. Public restrooms and during the season, a concession stand. Conveniently located just minutes from downtown Ramona, this park also includes a Frisbee golf course. Professionally maintained and groomed, Wellfield supports all levels of sport. Of course, great for kids, also great for adult leagues or just getting out to swing the bat or kick the ball!!”

They have a little issue with the water but will work it out soon don't let it stop you from visiting we had no trouble with it (I an a water production supervisor). We had the best spot in the park and it was cool and quiet can't wait to come back and stay longer.”

Cedar Creek Falls Trailhead

Address: 15519 Thornbush Rd, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

“We missed the posts that said you had to have a permit. We got there and the sign said there were no more permits left for that day. I checked online anyway and there were plenty of permits. So, don't trust the sign. The rating for the trail said "Difficult". I have hiked difficult trails, this was not one of them. The trail down was a very even steady grade. Once you get near the falls there is a little tiny bit of bouldering, but certainly not difficult. We did this in winter and the weather was perfect for a six mile hike. I could see where summer might get too hot. Bring plenty of water and snacks and you'll be fine. I never would have thought I could find a waterfall out by Ramona, but there it was... cute little falls and a nice place to spend some quiet time.”

Rosary Garden

Address: 3323 CA-67, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

“This is a VERY special place that is full of beauty and love! My daughter and I stumbled on this place. We were driving by and saw a sea of roses!!! We asked if we could look at them, and it turns out it is a labor of love for the public to enjoy. Doesn't the world need more lovely people like that? :) No one is making you pray, in case anyone is wondering. ;) But you will be feeding your Soul whether you mean to or not. This place is so beautiful and peaceful. The photos don't do it justice. The owner kindly offered that people can cut ONE rose to take home. You can look up their Facebook to see more if you like. He also has a lending library, which is fantastic. I just realized that I never did this review. We visited way back in June of 2020. But we drove past today and it all looks as amazing as ever. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us! You are making the world a better place!”

Collier County Park

Address: 626 E St, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

Park

“It's a nice park. The foresters there are a bit overzealous so you really have to watch their policies. If you want to like play fetch with a well behaved dog make sure you go before 9am because it's a no go even if no one's there after. Not the staffs fault their just following the rules but make sure you know there are no exceptions.”

Mt. Woodson Trail

Address: 16310 CA-67, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

Park

“Super steep trail but totally doable and worth it! This is the quickest way to the famous Potato Chip Rock. We knocked it out pretty quick during a nice overcast day and were able to catch a pack of goats at the top! If you haven't been to Potato Chip yet, I recommend you get out and go before the heat gets to intense. Right now you can enjoy a nice calm 65-70 degrees. There are tons of great photo spots so be sure to keep your phone charged or bring a nice camera to really step things up.”

Barnett Ranch Preserve

Address: Deviney Lane at, San Vicente Rd, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

Park

“Good hike not much foot traffic, a few horseback riders and a few hikers. Got there early when the fog still hanging out. There is wildlife out there just saw a lot of birds. A lot of paw prints some dog, some I'm sure were mountain lion, also deer and racoon tracks. Definitely a good hike for r the family or just getting out of the house. Plenty of parking it's free and a port-o-pottie.”

Dos Picos County Park

Address: 17953 Dos Picos Park Rd, Ramona, CA 92065, USA

Park

“Ain't the fanciest but it ain't bad either! Do you need a getaway for a few days featuring a campfire? For 30 bucks a night that can be your getaway at Dos Pecos! Get more civilized campsite while feeling like having some amount of privacy. For people who are serious about roughing it this place may not be for you. People passing through for a night or two and weekenders this is a great spot. Full hookups and bathrooms with the works is what you get here. No need to answer the call of the wild IN the wild here. That as well as good phone service so contact with civilization is a touch-screen away, not to mention that the city of Ramona is a 10 minute drive. You'll find some good eats there as well as interesting stores to explore. Either way its not a bad place to experience for a weekend camping trip. Would recommend.”

Luelf Pond Preserve

Iron Mountain Summit

Address: Ramona, CA 92065, USA

Park

“This is by far my favorite hiking spot in San Diego. I've been here several times, early morning and night hikes, but mostly I love the late afternoon/evening. Beautiful views and foliage all around. The trail is well trafficked even on weekdays, but everyone is always friendly, the trails are well-maintained. If you decide to go later in the day, I recommend a flashlight and a light jacket, it can get chilly. A good get away from concrete and city life.”
