“The park was so gorgeous. Super clean. Even the picnic tables were clean. No trash. The open field was so green. Ball park looked great. Playground was clean. No trash in the sand anywhere. Pleasantly surprised at how clean the park was. Comparatively speaking. Gotta watch out for random dog droppings but other than that, that park was amazing”

“This is a lovely park with a nice playground for kids (2-5) and (5-12). There’s a community center, senior’s center and both covered and open sit-outs. Good green cover in many places. A walking/joggers track wraps around the north perimeter of the park, approx 1.2mi. At the center, there’s a thoughtful memorial to our veterans. As a bonus, you get a beautiful view of the mountains. The park closes at 6pm which is early for summer, and some folks are still around late into the evening.”

“Greetings from Northern Virginia! Hadn't been to this park in many years, on a previous family visit when my kids were young enough to want to go to the playground every day. Super nice little neighborhood park with sandy playground, lots of swings, a covered picnic area, and a curvy, paved, partially shady walking path with exercise stations. There's ample parking including handicapped spaces, and even an ice cream man who stops by the entrance. Lots of people and pups socializing and exercising and relaxing. They all seemed happy to be there. Great old trees (a neighbor walking the path told us one is 100 years old!) Also a geocache ;) Suggest adding a few additional benches along the trail for folks who need to sit every once in a while and also small signs identifying the more significant, interesting trees.”

“Today turned out to be as good as any vacation day we've had. In fact, two vacation days rolled into one, The home and workshops that this amazingly creative and skillful wood artisan designed and built and the wood sculpted furniture he made were each unique, and designed for comfort and simple elegance. His artistry became so famous that 4 US presidents requested one of his one if a kind rocking chairs. His talented wife was an artisan herself and together they added simple and practical creations all around. After an hour your that seemed half that, My bride and I took a walk around the well forested garden and stopped twice at shaded benches to just stop, relax and listen in this quiet location to soft breeze through the eucalyptus, pines, aspens and oaks, with a hundred beautiful and intriguing different plants found along the winding paths. Added to this were a variety of art works displayed, with some artists creating their own additions while we watched and chatted about how it was done. Occasional chats with others walking the oath were also enjoyed. We both had two wonderful days rolled into one and felt refreshed and energized and fortunate to have shared this experience when we returned home.”

“Great park. Unfortunately a lot of teams fight for the space and there isn't a defined way for them to reserve it. You could have a field that is rarely used and then suddenly a football field painted and a whole team takes over. Would like some kind of "reservation" process.”

“I have been wanting to get back into hiking and getting active. After reading up on this place, this seemed like a good place to start. I got there around 9am on a Wednesday morning. Parking was readily available and not the nightmare I read about. Followed the steadily-inclining trail and enjoyed he great views. It's pretty rocky at points, but nothing too bad, but wear appropriate shoes. I'm out of shape and quickly realized it here. Once to the top there is a nice little waterfall and stream. Very tranquil spot to rest or explore before hiking back down. Lot of graffiti and things like that, but it's still worth checking out. The trek down is all downhill and took no time. I had a lot of fun on this trail and saw around 30 people total from start to finish. Definitely will be back to see if I can beat my time! Check it out!”
