Big Bear Discovery Center

Nice building, clean restrooms, informative staff. Not much to actually see in the place, but a good resource to plan your hike or learn about the area.

This center was very informative and has interactive activities for kids to learn. The restroom is clean, but there are no trash cans to throw away. There is a gift shop if interested, I got a keychain.

The people here are so friendly and helpful! There are some small exhibits to look at and some children’s activities. There are restrooms available in the front. They also confirmed for me that my America The Beautiful interagency pass is good for parking in these US Forest areas too and gave me a hanger for my rear view mirror

Staffs are so friendly and knowledgeable. We attended the nature walk. It was about an hour and we learned a lot about the place, trees, and animals. Highly recommend! Our guide Sand was great 👍

A very popular goto place when you need guidance from the most friendly and professional rangers about where to go and hike in the Big Bear Lake area. They would provide you with free map and point out where to park if you want to save money buying day pass. The location offered a very informative display for the kids to see and touch. And there are short hikes suitable to the very young or old.
