This is our 3rd Summer in a row coming here for my wife's birthday. We've made this a tradition. This is her favorite place to spend it especially since it falls in the summer. The river water is absolutely perfect. Not cold at all and it's also semi clear. There's plenty of space to get comfortable under the bridge. Personally it's better to come early so that way you can grab a parking spot along the road close to go to the trail to go down to the river. Across the bridge there is more parking but if you brought a lot of things you may have a hard time walking to the spot.
Keep in mind there is a parking fee you must pay to park in the area. I don't think you can sneak around that. Rangers walk around and check every car winshield for a receipt. The fee is $10. The area doesn't get too packed. We usually always get there early (around 10am-12pm) and notice that a lot of people don't start coming to the river until 3-4pm.
Make sure you bring water shoes because the river is very rocky and it can get very painful walking around. Also the Kiosk provides life jacket for kids and adults however it's first come first serve on those so if you can't swim it's best to bring your own especially because the current could be strong and on some parts of the river it can reach up to 11-13ft deep. Either than that, this spot is the absolutely breathe taking and more than likely be coming here every year for my wife's birthday. I highly recommend bringing your family and friends here.
