“This is my second time to check out Kahuna Art Museum. I enjoyed the show this time… but there’s no impression for my first visit. This time, they have a graduate exhibition from LCAD which is pretty good. And Francis portrait exhibition is great as well. The basement, they have Jean Lowe’s show which is my favorite, it is so fun and amazing to check it out.”

The paintings whisper serenity to my heart. His work is majestic in details yet it brings pea e into me. I love that an artist who runs his own gallery is available to answer questions as well. “I confess I didn't get very far on the evening I went (12/6) as it was raining hard when I arrived, followed by talking most of the evening with an artist at one of the galleries. But that is one of the pleasures of these type events. It was very enjoyable interacting with locals and seeing the few galleries that I did on the north end. But as I have a bit of experience attending these type events both domestically and internationally, as a visitor I can tell you that Laguna Beach's art scene is among the best you'll find anywhere. I used to do First Thursday in Seattle frequently and it was no comparison to this. I've always felt the artists who put these spots on the maps when they formed art colonies like they did here, drawn by their love of beautiful places, were well ahead of their time as new residents followed suit.”

“I lived in the area for years and got into the habit of stopping by here with my pups as the owner keeps filled water dishes for the many dogs that pass by. The guy that manages the place not only has good taste but is a very positive, personable and kind man. The artwork featured always showcased fresh approaches that were cycled frequently- making me crane my neck every time I passed. Great art walk destination for Thursday. Keep up the good work!”
