“We are a new user of the PVPTA since my middle schooler is now using the bus to school. While I can not attest to the schedule problems the other reviewer had, we have experienced good service. I was teaching my son how to use the bus system so we practiced on the 225/226 line and it was on time on the 2 trips we made. In addition, the bus driver was very pleasant and offered us a bus schedule. I also found the buses to be very clean and well maintained. If you have every ridden a bus in LA you know it can be dirty and smelly. I like that they had seat belts and adjustable arm rests and were overall comfortable seats. The large tinted windows were also nice. The first time my son rode the bus to school it was late by 5 mins. However, the bus driver that came before the school bus had kindly alerted us that there was traffic delays due to construction on PV Dr/Silver Spur. I also wanted to comment on the excellent customer service we experienced. My son has aspergers and so life skills are more challenging. I contacted PVPTA via email to explain the situation about my son and if there was anything they could do to help alert the drivers of his needs -- I was pleasantly surprised to get a personal response the same day! The Supervisor was so supportive and understanding and informed me that he could work with the drivers. I also received a personal phone call after I ordered the student bus pass if I wanted to put any special designation on the pass to alert the drivers or leave it typical as not to let peers make fun. His first independent ride, I received an email stating the driver called in that my son got to school ok. Since then, I have received other mails offering additional help to ensure my son's well being. While not all students need this hand holding, it has been such a blessing to get this extra support so graciously and not having to beg for help. I so appreciate PVPTA taking customer service to a higher level. Side note to other reviewer's comment: We did get my son a cell phone last year when he started middle school as the school is about 5miles/15 min drive from our house and has about 3000 kids. The phone has come in handy as a reassurance that he can get help if he needs it. ”
