I was in Texas and dealing with the funeral home preparing her when we were worried about flying her back to L.A but let me tell you they coordinated everything with them promptly. To say simply thank you is not enough but I would like to acknowledge how professional, reliable and punctual they were when they had to pick up my mother’s body. It was already hard to let my mom go but more importantly to make things happen how she wanted after her passing. “Granted the funeral home itself is not the best looking as for terms where you would like to say your goodbyes to your loved one but the the staff is great and they truly are caring. My father passed away suddenly and as far as money we were limited on what we could afford to cremate him. ( you’re getting what you pay for) and we visited 13 funeral homes with the radius of this one.We met with Joe who runs the office and he was incredibly patient and helpful and made sure we didn’t rush the process and got everything we wanted. Walter the director and Joe were so helpful as we ran across many issues with the city corner but they kept us updated along the way. I’m out of state and It took six months before the coroner, even released my father’s death certificate, and they kept me updated the entire time and without hesitation next day, mailed the certificates once they receive them. They took every single one of my calls and outrageous requests due to the circumstances of my father‘s passing. They may not be Michelin stars of funeral homes, but they took amazing care of us.”

“My mom passed away six years ago and I felt overwelmed and numb all at the same time. Veronica, who worked there at the time was very kind and patient with me and my sister. We live in Long Beach and was not sure if the location was too far away. But to our surprise it was not very far at all. It's very peaceful, and I love seeing the Mariachi Bands singing to their family members whom have passed away. My only criticism six years ago was that the painting on the Nitch wall was very old and peeling, and the name plates were crooked. But when I brought it to Veronica's attention it was all fixed within a few weeks. Now as of three years ago my nephew is resting peacefully there as well. R.I.P Mama ❤️ and Christopher 💙”

“My husband died unexpectedly in Jan 2021, when mortuaries and funeral homes were overwhelmed from the pandemic. I was out of state when it happened, and was turned down by 8 other funeral homes that were too full before Boyd said they would help us. They were able to keep my husband's body safe and have him cremated for me, and Candy was patient with my questions. I am so grateful for their help. Today I called them again because I had a bill from the county related to his processing and I wasn't sure if it was legit- Robert remembered my husband, explained everything for me, and after my question was resolved he actually asked me if I had been doing ok. I was really touched, generally at this point no one asks me that anymore. Thank you!!!”

“Pierce Brothers Valhalla met all of our needs with compassion, concern, and timeliness. I lost my father right before Christmas, and my stepmother months before that. Due to my father’s health, we were not able to have a funeral for my stepmother. When Dad passed, we decided to conduct a dual service. The staff made sure that we were not overwhelmed with planning during the holiday. Nancy, our funeral director, went above and beyond to make my parents celebration of life very special. She provided insight, made my ideas a reality, and was there for me every step of the way. We could not have gotten though it all without her. Her help allowed us to celebrate a bittersweet first Christmas without my parents. In addition, in the final week before the service she was able to make the changes I requested. I liked that they were compassionate of my situation and they weren't like other Mortuaries that treated my Dad's death as a sale, instead Ted's Affordable Mortuary treated myself and my family with the utmost respect. They did everything they said they would do and more. I also liked that the fact they were professional especially due to my family dealing with another shady Mortuary that was dishonest, disrespectful, and unprofessional.
