“The building isn't pretty oiutside, but the rooms inside are newly redone, very clean, and nice. The redone bathroom was very nice, and functional. The location is great for exploring Oakland; near bus stops. And the price, well, it's hard to beat! (esp. considering how stupid expensive Bay Area lodging can be!) Next time I'm in the area, I know where I'm staying! :-) WELL DONE!”

“Great place to stay in Oakland on a budget. Cassandra is really nice and the proximity to the BART is really nice. Not in a great neighborhood though, so wouldn't recommend going out at night. Felt safe in the house though and the other guests were all friendly. Best part is that Cassandra bakes some times! Today I had peach cobbler tacos. :)”

“My goto place when I fly out of Oakland. Best prices in the area, great costumer service, rooms are fine, appreciate like the gated long term parking with security. Left my car at the hotel for 2 weeks with no issues. It’s a basic no fills hotel, perfect for my needs when traveling. They have 24 hr shuttle service to the airport. Staff is always friendly and you can tell it’s family run. Never felt unsafe. Plus the Indian food restaurant next door is amazing! If you want something more fancy/upscale this hotel isn’t for you, but if you’re a budget traveler but also want to feel safe, then this is the hotel.”

“I love this place very much. The landlord is incredibly nice and , and the location is absolutely perfect! The area is very walkable, and as a blind individual, very accessible. The bus station is right on the corner, and BART is a short walk away, giving you access to the rest of Oakland and the surrounding areas. “Jack and his crew remodeled my fireplace and living room with the help of a designer. Each member of his crew (and Jack) was curteous, clean, and did excellent work. They anticipated issues and brought them to my attention and offered opinions when asked. Communication was great and the project was implemented in the timeline expected and without the need for many changes. It was a joy to work with them and we are getting many compliments on our new space!”

“We came on Valentine’s Day weekend and stayed in one of the suites. Very spacious and clean. I loved the waterfront view. Enrique at the front desk has great customer service skills and is extremely helpful. I came this weekend as well and Enrique remembered me and again was very helpful. Great hotel. The breakfast and dinner was great. Everyone who works here is great! Thank you! I didn’t get everyone names but the bartenders, the dinner cook and the front desk are all great!”

“Holy cow, this is in the middle of the mess called the Bay Area?! Very nice park that seems way outside of a busy area, but is right next to it. The roads to get to the campground are rather curvy, so it takes a while longer than expected to get down into town if you need to go, so try not to forget anything but the stress of being in the middle of the East Bay!”
