“I started salsa with Ray from his first July 2018 class onwards til the pandemic shutdown in March 2020 & back up recently. I love to dance in general & Ray’s salsa class was something in my life I looked forward to week after week because it was fun. We always managed to laugh every week. Some people came for only 1 class, some for a few months, & some longer but quit at some point. What kept me going is that when I dance salsa, I am in a zone which is blissful…it is when I feel truly happy…I lose track of time & feel my best because I am enjoying to my max. There are very few things in life that you truly enjoy or you look forward to. We should always welcome these in our lives & continue with these on an ongoing basis.”

Irvington Park

“This park may not be huge but crowded on weekdays because of soccer activities on the turf field. Many of residents can be seen jogging, walking or picnicking and even some yoga or other sports activities. Basket ball court is there close to the picnic area and you can see the kids around here. Almost every part of the park is being used. A lot of parking is available.”

“It’s a huge park right next to an elementary school. Around 4:30-6:30pm, there are many dog owners who let their pups play in the field. In the winter morning, you can see morning dew spread across the field as in the picture which is eerie but cool.”

But today the lot was full of RVs lots of cars lots of people it’s truly a new gem in the East Bay regional Park District! Photos soon!”

Campground Lodging Park Restaurant Store

“Last time I've been here had to be at least 5 years ago since I moved to SJ. My daughter wanted a crepe and I wanted Thai food and this place came to mind. I couldn't believe the size portion of the quality food that we received. Service was super friendly and kept checking up on us and refilling our water. Food came out in a timely manner and definitely coming back!”

Niles Community Park

“Plenty of shaded grassy area and nice tables and benches for picnics. Cute little playground that is partly shaded. Cute duckies. Awesome view of trees reflected on the lake. Some really cool looking trees with roots that look like a nest of snakes. Paved walkway. Just wish the walkway was more shaded. Omg did it get hot in certain parts!”

Coyote Hills Regional Park

Address: 8000 Patterson Ranch Rd, Fremont, CA 94555, USA

Park

“This is my close to my home and have been going here from the past 2 decades. Serene and vast landscape with rolling hills. Green during winter and brown, yet beautiful in Summer. Can walk your dogs and stop at vistas with vast views of the bay. The view was better before all the houses built around in the past few years, but still pretty. It has unique birds that are an ornithologists delight. Go there to calm your mind during weekday mornings or afternoons. Weekend parking can be an issue. Parking near the park entrance is free but you have to walk nearly a mile. Parking inside is $5. Well worth it.”

Ardenwood Historic Farm

Address: 34600 Ardenwood Blvd, Fremont, CA 94555, USA

Park

“We had a lovely time at the farm. It’s clean, plenty of space to social distance, and everyone seemed to follow the mask mandate. However, we definitely suggest a worker be present by the animals. This is because people cannot be trusted. On our visit we saw a group of women and their kids feeding grass to goats (despite numerous signs not to do so), throwing feed at the ducks, and chasing and screaming at the chickens (yes, even the grown women). Those poor animals. We said some comments, but that didn’t deter their behavior. We would have asked an employee for help had we seen one. Besides the blacksmith (who was great to speak with), the gentleman at the house, and the ticket booth guy, we didn’t see any workers nearby.”

Mission Peak Regional Preserve

Address: Fremont, CA 94539, USA

Park

“Great hiking trail. It is well paced so that a first timer wouldn't over exert themselves with steep ascents in some areas and plateaus in others. There are quite a few animals to see on the trail if you are lucky. I caught an eagle, squirrel and some cows grazing. There are conveniently placed stops to rest and catch your breath and a bathroom some ways to the top. It is important that newbies and first timers come with their own water and snacks to stay refreshed. Making it to the top can be a challenge but very good for a solo hike or with family. The view is of course breath taking.”

It also had this huge branch that hung low over the field, you could bounce on it like a trampoline and launch pretty good from it. Lot's of great memories climbing up the railroad spikes to the tall branches and the swings the older kids used to set up.”
