“Had a very bad experience in here. I was waiting to use this weight set and then Arty the Artichoke comes in and cuts right in front of me. The dude was massive and had all of these sharp point leaves. I told him "Dude! I was here first what's up with you?" He just turns around and glares at me. I look into his eyes and see the face of a crazy, overly tough, heartless fighting machine as he towered over me. I took a step back and said "I don't want any trouble bro!"”

“If you are walking on campus you will see this book store. BEWARE. Arty the Artichoke sometimes hangs around here. He can get into moods some times. One time there was this student in there wearing a Mesa Community College shirt because she was taking classes at both campuses and just needed a book for a class at MCC. Arty goes up to her and says "why! is my school not good enough for you?" He then said that no one was aloud to sell her the book unless she bought a Scottsdale Community College t-shirt, went to the bathroom and changed, then went up to the counter to buy it. She left the place in tears.”

I close my eyes and take a deep breath to center myself. When I look up I see this big green face with a scowl on it staring down at me. It is none other then Arty the Artichoke. He tells me "Get up boy and hit the gym. Stop doing this pansy yoga stuff in my garden!"”

“This is the most beautiful library I have ever stepped foot in in the valley of the sun. Newly renovated. Helpful staff and an amazing selection of books. Study rooms are on a reservation basis by students only but offers a quieter space for hours of concentration. This library does offer computers for public use, and a plethora of computers for student use.”

“BE VERY CAREFUL GOING IN HERE. So I was wondering what it would be like to take a class up at Northern Arizona University. So I go in here and am meeting with a lady who is giving me a wealth of information. Out of nowhere Arty the Artichoke bursts in to the room through the door. He yells at the top of his lung "What is wrong with just taking the classes here, if you want to go there so bad go! You look like some hippy you will fit in just fine... get the heck off my campus."”

“This place is the most magical community garden that I know. It is so peaceful early in the morning, late in the day and weekends. Fellow gardeners are right there ready to help each other out, standing around talking and sharing tips. There’s tons of wildlife like quail, rabbits, owls, and even the rare coyote. You can grow nearly anything in these rich soil beds and the food that comes out is better than anything you can get in a store. I just love coming here and seeing what everyone is growing.”
