“A surprisingly great vistor/discovery center! We wanted to just get out of the house for the morning and found it a great stop while visiting the lake. Ranger Kevin was a great host and very informative about the region. He even brought out some of the live animal displays for the kids to see! It is small but for it's size it's a wonderful stop.”

Rio Vista Community Park

Address: 8866 W Thunderbird Rd, Peoria, AZ 85381, USA

Park

“This park is so cool. They have so many activities available to use. There’s a volleyball court, many baseball fields, basketball courts, a whole recreation center with a gym inside, people fish here, huge playground for the little ones, a huge eating area, and tons of parking even when it’s packed. There’s also a trail alongside the park making running and walking here much better. I highly recommend this park. It’s beautiful.”

Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park

Address: 7098 W Miner Trail, Peoria, AZ 85383, USA

Park

“This is a wonderful, mid-sized desert-suburban park, right at the edge of some preserved state land, and adjacent to the East Wing trailhead, a gorgeous, 2.4 mile round-trip hike. The western edge of the park empties out onto state land, with mostly flat, dirt trails. Very scenic. The playground isn't giant, but it's nice. No swings, though. There is a restroom, basketball courts, and a multi-purpose field. The parking lot is pretty narrow. Overall, a beautiful park , especially if you want a more natural setting for exploration and free play.”

Real estate agency Park

“A very nice and open park that is fairly new to the area. There is a small lake, a large play area for children and a smaller play area for toddlers. You'll also find an area with water features for children to play in. There is a small snack bar with eating area, large and small ramada's for family parties and gatherings. They offer a pickleball and tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields and basketball courts. It's great for bicyclists since they have an air pump station and chain attached tools if needed. There are some interesting sculptures when you first come into the park. The bathrooms were clean and well lit. We walked all over the park and thought it was very well maintained, clean and good for all ages to enjoy👍👍👍👍👍”

Scotland Yard Dog Park

Address: 9251 W Scotland Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345, USA

“It being between grand Ave and an older neighborhood I was very surprised how clean and nice this park was. I try to take my dog to different parks for a week or so to break up the monotony. So not only is this a dog park but it's inside another Park which is also very nice and clean. I've seen parks in lot better neighborhoods that aren't kept as well or as nice”

East Wing Mountain Trails

Address: Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park, 7098 W Miner Trail, Peoria, AZ 85383, USA

Park

“Beautiful hiking trail with gorgeous views. Lots of balloons launching the day we hiked. From the trail parking it’s maybe 1/8 mile on sidewalk until you cross the road and enter the trail proper. Then it’s about a quarter mile along a winding dirt path scenic gully between two parts of the neighborhood until you reach the mountain. The trail was fairly rocky and steep, especially the difficult route that goes directly to the top. The views north and south to the surrounding mountains, including a long stretch of the Central Arizona Project canal from Lake Pleasant to Phoenix, are worth the climb! Just don’t touch the plants. My son said one get like fire coral before his hand went numb. ?”

Park Restaurant

“Beautiful park! I almost want to keep it a secret but I would have wanted to know about it before, so I'll let you in on the secret. It has a complete playground and swing set. A little adventure zone where kids can climb over logs and large boulders in a sand pit. There seems to be a water fountain to play in during the summer. It has a full size basketball court and a large grassy field where some soccer could potentially be played. Around the perimeter there is a little concrete paved track with doves and birds imprinted and on the track there are 3 fitness stations. One for cardio, another for push-ups/pull-ups and jumping, and lastly a squat and sit-up station Can't afford a gym membership plus have kids to take care of? I think this place was built for you. Excercise while they play. =] It's a hidden little place but amazing in my opinion.”
