“Over the winter Valley Fuel in Willow accidentally spilled fuel at my 92 year old Mom’s place in Big lake on her gravel driveway. This company represented the best of ethics and what America is meant to stand for. Do the right thing. They brought 2 dump trucks. A skid stir (I think) , a roller thing to compact it, and 4 men to do the work. They dug it all out, replaced the fill and are coming back with gravel. In our greedy world of today it sure is good to see a company do the right thing! Thank you Valley Fuel for taking care of Mom so well!”

“Big gas station good for vehicles with trailers. DEF, AVGAS, and heating oil pumps at the side of the lot. One of the few stations in the area with free air (only during store hours though). Store has your usual gas station essentials, coffee, snacks, washer fluid, etc. Staff has always been friendly.”

“What used to be a Mom-N-Pop station is now part of an Alaskan-owned chain. The manager is super friendly, and many of the workers are still there from its mom-n-pop days, so it still has the “local gas ‘n groceries” feel to it. Gas prices are lower than competing stations, and it has many of the amenities that locals need, including a laundromat. Great for a quick stop-in to grab snacks while filling up the tank.”

“My husband and I stopped in on our way to Homer at 7pm on Father's Day after a long drive from Denali. The place was packed but we found a seat at the counter. We sat for a few minutes as the staff were very busy, but not extraordinarily long. We ordered the special, Prime Rib dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and chatted with us a bit Our order took some time to come out, but was hot and very good. We had a nice conversation with the owner, Arden. We returned on our way back up the peninsula for lunch and were greeted by the staff, served promptly, and left happy. Bought a few things at the gift shop and went on our way!”

“Every time I need to get gas coming or going to Anchorage I stop bye. The owners have been there for 20+ years you’re so polite and kind. And it’s a great location it gives you that mom and pop quickie mart sort of feel. They have a much bigger variety of snacks and candy that you probably haven’t seen in a while or never knew it even existed. The prices are fair I don’t stop often but I always enjoy the stop.”

“Working night shift is difficult but time and again the employees at Valley Country Store have helped me out. Tonight, I was trying to get my house clean when I broke a part on my vacuum cleaner. I called Valley Country Store and asked if they had duct tape and explained my problem. The employee told me they didn’t have duct tape but had something that would probably work. Sure enough, for $2.48, I was able to “fix” my vacuum cleaner. Thank you!”

“This Fred Meyer Fuel Center is my "go-to" gas station when driving between the valley and Anchorage. The Glenn Highway is almost next door to the Fred Meyer Fuel Center, but not perfect. The signal light is a pain and I feel like the left turn into the Fred Meyer Fuel Center isn't always clear. Thankfully there are plenty of pumps and space to get around all vehicle types and sizes.
