“There's a couple reasons to rate this five star. First. It's right on the kenai River and it is absolutely beautiful! Second, it's location is very convenient as it is right on the highway. Quick and easy to pull into and there's local convenience stores in Cooper landing along with gas. They have fire pits with picnic tables and they have bear proof food containers for each site to store anything the bears might want to get into, which is... Absolutely, everything. Seriously never underestimate what the bears can get into. There's a public outhouse and a public can pump well for use at the campsite. Been stopping off here on my way back and forth for over 50 years and each time I enjoy it.”

“This is such a beautiful place. The cabins are set in the trees, with lovely lush lawn, and gorgeous flowers everywhere. The mountain scenery is breathtaking. Games to play outdoors, and indoors. Had internet, and big screen TV too, if you need that. Yes, Flush toilets and running water, Wahoo!! Quiet place to relax with family. Beds were amazing. The new owners are so nice. Had everything we needed for our home away from home stay.”

“If you're looking for the easiest way to cross the Russian River then you want to stay here at the Sportsman's Landing. Not much here besides restrooms. Sportsman's Landing has parking for vehicles, RVs, and boats. There is no tent camping here and with all the bears I doubt I would want to. Sleep in your truck or the RV, it's safer. There are no electrical hookups or water, so you'll be dry camping here. There is a boat launch above the ferry area. There is no store or ATM here, so bring plenty of water, food, and cash to pay the day use fee.”

“We spent 9 days at the Drift House. 2 dads and 2 sons. The location in Coopers Landing is perfect for Kenai river floats and acces to Seward and Kenai. We used the Drift House as a home base and rented a drift boat for daily fly fishing at the end of the sockeye run. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and boats. The home is perfect with comfortable beds, full kitchen, laundry access and easy trash removal. We were able to use our accounts for Netflix and other streaming platforms after long days on the river. My son and I slept better than we did at home and every morning we were minutes from the river put in and take out. Heather and company are very easy to work with and very responsive to questions and potential needs. We will return!!! Chris Bell”

“RV park is the best on the Kenai in my opinion because of being connected to the princess lodge. Bathrooms are great with showers(coins operated). Staff is nice, area for recycling, trash and tons more. I highly recommend this location.”

“We stayed 3 nights and it was perfectly located for our side trips to Kenai Peninsula, Seward and Whittier. We were in a group of 3 women and our room accommodated us perfectly. Booking and check-in was super easy and the hotel owner is beyond amazing. Today, I asked if I could freeze my ice packs anywhere so I could keep my meds cool for tomorrow's drive. He EXCHANGED the fridge in our room to bring one with a freezer compartment. He had to carry these fridges up and down the stairs!!! What an unexpected kindness and customer service. We were blown away. It is my first time in Alaska and the people are just awesome. Friendly, kind, helpful. If I get to come back, this hotel will definitely be on my itinerary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your exceptional support. We had a small kitchenette in the room which was awesome to fix some healthy meals on our 5 week road trip. Outside was a big table where we could eat comfortably while watching the sun set. With two windows in the room we were able to keep a nice breeze over night, never needing an AC. The room was clean and everything worked well. I would highly recommend the Alpine Inn in Cooper Landing!”

“We stumbled across Kahtnu when Googling places to stay in Alaska, and it was the best decision we made during our 2 week trip! The cabin is perfect for couples: amazing views of the river, a quiet front porch to watch eagles soaring through the canyon, and tasteful touches from hosts Lorraine and Mike (breakfast parfaits, fresh ground coffee, and hard boiled eggs waiting in the fridge to name a few!). The friendly huskies were an added touch for dog lovers like us. Highly recommend!”

“Outstanding area guide service. Simply put, they are the best in the area period. From picking the location to the equipment and talent you won't be disappointed. We have fished with other guides in the area who fill seats, use old or cheap equipment, and require you to either provide your own transport to and from the fish launch which has cost us quite a bit in the past for parking and other fees. We found these guys to be the best well rounded (truely professional) guide service in Cooper Landing.”

“I brought my 1yo and 4yo, they both enjoyed the cabin and the horses. The cabin we rented was small and cozy, I enjoyed it very much. Linens were fresh and there was access to a common kitchen. Being our 4yo was a little young for a trail ride we got a short 15min ride around the ranch.(she Loved it) All the folks there seemed very knowledgeable in there roles and there always was something happening. I am going back and bringing more family as this was the perfect little retreat.”

“I booked a fishing trip with Gwin’s Lodge and had an incredible day on the Kenai River. Their guide Scott was eager to plan the trip around my desire to chase rainbow trout instead of salmon. Scott’s enthusiasm and tenacity to find these rainbows even during high water conditions was truly impressive. He used his knowledge to change out fly patterns multiple times until we found what worked. We had a 20+ fish day even with challenging conditions. I will definitely book another trip with Scott and Gwin’s Lodge. Great hospitality and excellent food after an epic day on the river.”

“My husband and I stopped in on our way to Homer at 7pm on Father's Day after a long drive from Denali. The place was packed but we found a seat at the counter. We sat for a few minutes as the staff were very busy, but not extraordinarily long. We ordered the special, Prime Rib dinner. Our waitress was very friendly and chatted with us a bit Our order took some time to come out, but was hot and very good. We had a nice conversation with the owner, Arden. We returned on our way back up the peninsula for lunch and were greeted by the staff, served promptly, and left happy. Bought a few things at the gift shop and went on our way!”

“We went to the Kenai Riverside Resort for an off site business and team building retreat. Our guides, Jim and Kevin, were outstandingly excellent in the attention to detail, cordial service, good equipment, helping us find plenty of fish in a fun and safe way. The delicious shore lunches at the resort and fire pit made for a rejuvenating experience after hours on the water. Jim also helped us to organize float plane charters to remote destinations and deep sea fishing out of Homer. “The Resurrection pass trail is very well maintained along the roughly 4.25 miles from the Cooper Landing trailhead to this forest service campground. There is a metal bear box about the size of a typical cooler which was really convenient for food storage. The campground has a few spots to put tents spread out through the area. There were a lot of spots we passed up because of roots or slope. The campground is elevated on the bank of Juneau Creek, just upstream from the waterfall so you can sleep listening to the rushing water. There is a good spot to get water from the creek just a few yards away. There is an open air pit style toilet / seat with a nice view of a mountain.”
