I felt completely defeated as I began my first breastfeeding journey. My pediatrician was not helpful at all and I left our first checkup in tears. I spoke with a lactation consultant over the phone, but one on one help is what I needed. Engorged and frustrated, I found Tidewater Lactation Group! The office building is a little run down and kinda sketchy, but I was thrilled with my appointment! They did a weighed feed and help me adjust my positioning to ensure it was comfortable for me and my baby. You can join all the Facebook groups and talk to all the people in the world in the phone, but you can’t beat an in person consultation like this! Also, Tricare covered my whole visit so I didn’t pay a penny for it - but it would have been worth it anyway.

I was absolutely dreading getting a breast pump. Trying to pick out a good one, dealing with the doctor, not to mention the paperwork for the insurance claim. But Tidewater Lactation took all that worry away. Considering this is my first time getting a pump I wasn't sure how to go about it. (Even though their location is kind of confusing) Not only were they nice they dumbed down everything and explained what I needed to get the pump. And all that was required was a RX from the doc which was just a phone call. After that it was just dropping the RX off at the group during business hours and picking out which pump I wanted. ( Which the receptionist so very kindly and patiently explaining the pros and cons of each, bless her.) THAT'S IT! I chose the Spectra S2 not only could I decide wether or not to pick it up in person or have it shipped to my house, if they had it in stock I could have taken it home the same day. Even with it not in stock it arrived at the office within a week and then was priority shipped to me in one day! And to top it off.. they handled the insurance claim for me!! Will definitely be using them in the future and will be recommending them to everyone.

I scanned and emailed my prescription and the order form from the website and 2 hours later I had a reply email with a tracking number and delivery date for my new pump! It couldn't have been easier or more pleasant! I'm very happy that I chose Tidewater to get my pump!

I went to Tidewater Lactation Group to order a breast pump through insurance. They have several on display and were helpful in showing me how each of them work so I could select the best one for me. Fast, easy transaction and I got my pump in just a few days. I also bought a nursing bra as they do bra fittings. Very helpful staff and a beautiful and clean office.
After my LO came I had nipple damage from a bad latch and came in for a lactation consultation. Liz was great in helping us correct our position and latch.
They offer so many services I recommend them to everyone I know!
