I have been taking lessons from Jason for a little over a year now and he is amazing! He strives to not only teach you how to play, but listen to music. He makes it a goal for his students to be able to decipher songs and know what the chords could be before having to rely on google (a very useful skill for musicians). If you ever have a specific song you have always wanted to learn, Jason can help you achieve it. He also makes learning music theory interesting! At the end of each lesson I feel very satisfied with new or improved knowledge about guitar.

My daughter and I have been attending lessons with Jason for 6 months now. She had been attending lessons for a couple of years at other area teaching locations and had become a bit more proficient than a ‘beginner’. Jason definitely took her knowledge to the next level. His patience teaching and his focusing on basics and theory, rather than just “what song do you want to play” have been instrumental in getting her playing (and mine) to grow while not being tedious or causing us to lose interest.

Furthermore, your fee pays for his TIME not per person he is teaching. Other instructors in the area charge per person. This has allowed me to take lessons with my daughter and enjoy that time and connection we have together in a hobby. In case you are wondering, yes - the 9 year old who has been taking lessons for a few years is already surpassing me. I will play backup for her anytime.

Music theory with practical application to improve your guitar playing. He does everything from improvisation to learning a certain song or lick that you may want to play. He works with all musical genres. I would highly recommend!
