This place is a whole vibe! The aesthetics were nice and the smooth R&B was a nice tone for a Wednesday evening. Now let’s talk about this food. Baby, this is good soulful cooking. The season on the smothered pork chops and the fried pork chops was perfect. The cheese pull on the Mac&Cheese was on point and it passed the taste test. The hot wings definitely came with the spices. The drinks didn’t disappoint either! This is a great addition to Forney. I’m certainly a returning customer. Y’all stop by and check it out.

We arrived 10 minutes til closing time last night. I assumed they would turn us away, but they welcomed us in. The food was full of flavor, properly seasoned ( nothing tasted overly salted), hot, moist and absolutely delicious! We will be returning. The environment was classy, grown and chill. Forney residents needed this restaurant. Customer service was an A+.

I love that so many new and great restaurants are opening up in Forney and Southern Social Eatery is undoubtedly one of them! Stopped by for lunch and enjoyed all the dishes, especially the stuffed seafood potato, candied yams and peach cobbler. The decor inside is so fun, too! Can't wait to return and for their brunch menu to go live.

From the food to the staff to the vibe everything was great. I kind of compared them to True Kitchen but definitely with better customer service. If you’re thinking about eating here DO SO NOW because before long they are going to have a line and I’m sure require reservations .. the food is that good. We had the fried chicken and Salisbury Steak, cabbage, greens, Mac-n-cheese… All of it was very well seasoned .. Thank you guys for being a much needed restaurant to Forney.
