I recommend him on anything! Old or new!

This guy knows what he's talking about. I was convinced my 1911 that was called in the house while I was gone forever. Glen ensures me that he'll have it back up and working in perfect condition in a couple of weeks.

Glen is an old fashioned, professional master craftsman and while he probably knows more about and how to fix or enhance guns new and old than any five or ten gunsmiths I know, his forte is the Model 1911 and all it's variations. I swear he must be kin somehow to John Moses Browning himself. More patient than any other craftsman I've ever met, if he's stumped he'll figure it out. Glen's custom built guns are a thing of beauty and performance, and reasonably priced for the amount of skill that goes into them. He can either build you what you want, or take what you have and get it to the next level. I'd say his hand checkering is the most perfect I've seen in all my years, and it doesn't cost more to actually go first class there. I really wouldn't go anywhere else for barrel and bushing fit, and/or slide to frame as well, since he understands those intricate dynamics so well he must have written the book. I live in Salado, Texas--way to the south--but its worth the drive since you get the benefit of sitting down with him and discussing what you want. I've never come back home without learning something I didn't know. // ADDED INFORMATION 06/2016: After doing a lot of business with Glen over the last few years, a couple of months ago I was up there dropping off another gun and had the misfortune of having some extra cash that wasn't dedicated to something else (better yet, my wife didn't know it either). Now, Glen has always taken guns I'm working up and tuned them to the right level beyond my own MAC (Army for "Maintenance Allocation Chart"), or to correct my or somebody else's errors, but I've always drooled over his built-from-scratch custom 1911s he keeps in stock. So I came home with one carrying the label "G2 Custom" on the dust cover. I rotate several so called "high end" 1911s through the range cycle every month, eg, Wilson, Baer, Brown etc, but this one went right to the top on the first trip out and has stayed right there since. Perfectly fit, smooth as butter, and incredibly beautiful to boot. Accurate, even in my hands? You bet, and better than anything I've handled to date. 2" groups right off the bat, regardless of my coke bottle glasses. If I could see that far, I'm pretty damn sure this pistol would do 3" or less at 50 yards. No learning curve to the action, it's built the way 1911s are supposed to be and then some; trigger breaks like glass, is consistent with no creep, and amazingly you have a great sense of where the sear and hammer are at all times. It stays right at 3.2# on my scale. Finicky? No way, runs everything perfectly with no break-in period at all. In my humble estimation, this is an ultra-premium 1911 at half the price. Gun Tests magazine ought to do an article on custom guns that aren't as well known as most, and I'm going to tell them so; it will stay in my family as an heirloom as long as we've still got a Bill of Rights, and then even if we don't if I raised my kids right. GATOR-6 SENDS.
