I was transferred from Medical City Lewisville July 2020 During the hight of the Covid Epidemic to Select Specialty Hospital Plano in their long term Critical Illness Recovery Division after my emergency surgery on my colon that resulted in highly complex medical issues that this hospital was well suited for treating. Dr Ketan Patel the head Internist there collaborated with my Dr. Steven Ward Lacey his surgeon’s Dr Clifford Cox and Dr. Sina Matin and mapped out a long term treatment plan to be executed at Select to treat my medical complications which involved TPN and extensive wound management care. I was in extremely in bad shape medically and it involved Dr Hina Rizvi’s wound management expertise and many other highly specialized and caring nurses to stabilize me and to restore my health in order to get me to my final surgery at Baylor Grapvine Jan 2021 with Dr Cox and Dr. Sina Matin. I received nothing but the best from Dr Patel checking on me twice a day and reporting back to my specialist Dr Lacey in Southlake and surgeons Dr Cox and Dr. Sina Matin with constant updates. Dr Hina Rizvi and her wound management team were extremely aggressive in treating my wounds and taught me the skill set to handle my wound management by myself which came in handy later on down the road. They also taught me the importance to get my nutrition level back in check through TPN in order for the wounds to close effectively. After a three month stay I left in a healthier condition to transfer me back home in order for me to continue TPN and finish the wound management process until Jan 2021 for my final colon surgery by Dr Cox and abdominal reconstruction surgery by Dr Sina Matin. I am still in a recuperation process after the final surgery on Jan 2021 but extremely great full to the care I received by Dr Patel, Dr Hina Rizvi, her wound management team and many other nurses at Select. Yes I did experience issues with the case management team there but the CEO John O' Hearn personally got involved and resolved the case issues. He also visited with me and gave me his business card. What I learned from the entire process you have to have a strong mind set determination to survive to meet everyone there halfway to make it out successfully and to have the ability to learn how to take care yourself and treat your condition from these Drs and nurses at Select to transition home or to transfer to your next level of care. Thanks for taking the part in saving my life. 🙏

Very blessed we found this place for my wife, Dr. Allen is one of the best. After spending 91 days at medical city plano and coming here although medical city there was more good than bad nurses, select has definitely been outstanding and staff has been better than we could of hoped for. Thank you all. 😊💓

When it was time to have my husband discharged from the ICU at Baylor, I was very anxious about choosing an LTAC (long term acute care) hospital that would offer the care that I was hoping and praying for him (i.e- super high standards!). My husband stayed here for 1 month and 1 week and I honestly could not have made a better choice! We are so grateful for the love, support and care we were shown here. The nurses and doctors here are their biggest asset. They truly seemed like they loved what they were doing and happy to come to work every day. They had such a good working relationship with each other and were just so loving to my husband in his state. It's easy to forget that behind that sick patient is someone who is a normal human being that deserves compassion, dignity and respect and my husband got that and more here. The nurses would pop in and commend his progress and cheer for him. They were just so personable and sweet. I loved the diversity here! Special thanks to Lashon (admissions) for meeting me with a beautiful card the next day after arrival and personally reaching out through text late at night to apologize that the move took later in the evening than expected. Also, special thanks to Dr. Ahmed (a literal gem), Dr. Duggal, Dr. Rizvi, Dr. Malik, the kidney doctor (I forgot her name) and all the RT's (especially, Robert if I remember correctly), PT's (they are such a great duo) and ST for awesome care! I will say we were almost always with my husband, so this was obviously my personal experience here. There is no perfect place, but this came quite close. Oh, also they just moved here in June, so the rooms and bathrooms are huge and immaculate. Thank you for everything!

My husband recently was admitted at this facility. I toured it with Victoria De Las Santos, before transferring him from Baylor Scott & White Grapevine, and was very impressed with the cleanliness and the staff I met. Victoria answered most of my questions before I could ask them. My husband received amazing care! I would like to acknowledge Dr. Henry Allen whom oversees the care of the patients at the Plano facility. Dr. Allen will inform you of the patient’s condition, expected outcome and care plan. He would visit each patient every day and answer all questions and give you all the time you need to understand what is going on. He has amazing bedside manner! Our Pulmonologist was absolutely wonderful, Dr. Taylor! I also want to mention many of the staff that were over the top in giving care. Among the main ones that made such a difference are Melissa Williams(nurse supervisor), Barbara and Christina Waller(case management), Susan G., Obi, Tina P., and Joe(respiratory therapist) who all went above and beyond! They are all my heroes!!! I highly recommend this facility and the amazing care my husband received! Tammy Glidewell

They took super good care of my mom while she was there. All the staff were helpful, kind and patient. I can't thank the nurses enough for all they did for her. We especially loved Mrs. Susan and the way she treated us like family the entire time we were there.

Would also like to say the wound care team was phenomenal. My mom came in with an extremely bad bed sore, but it is now 100% healed and she is ready for rehab.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Would give them 10 stars if I could!

Sandra O. 06/30/21 A full 5 stars and a nice surprise after all I had been told about select. People must have been talking about the north location. The south location gives excellent care!
