If you've never had the pleasure of visiting an Asian bakery before, you're in for a (literal) treat! Sure, you're going to find a lot of staple breads that you can find anywhere, but Meianna and similar shops offer some items that may be unfamiliar to Western palates, at first. But if you're anything like me, you will soon come to enjoy, appreciate, and perhaps even prefer them.

(One important thing to note is that while sugar is used in Asian baked goods, the amount is usually significantly less, and there is a marked preference in brown sugar over white. Thus, most Asian desserts are less cloyingly sweet, and typically more...earthy and savory, with a sweet edge to them).

Don't get me wrong, Meianna will bake you a (fantastic, custom) cake with all the flavors and textures you are used to, and they do an amazing job of it, for a bargain price! But for me, I'm here for the pork buns, the taro or mango-filled pastries, green tea Swiss rolls, strawberry cream cheese sticks, char siu, and more! Savory is the way-vory! Don't let the moist, delicious cookies and perfectly-sculpted slices of cake lure you away from the true rock stars on the shelves at the back (although their Tiramisu slices are simply otherworldly, so I won't fault you if you surrender to temptation; I have on more occasions than I would care to admit)!

Meianna is the true star of the Fubonn Shopping Center, in my opinion. The grocery store is one thing, but it is a rare occasion when I visit this nearly-derelict mall without emerging with some sort of bread-like object stuffed in my mouth. And once you visit for the first time, I expect you will turn out the same!

They make really good mousse cake .. highly recommended. Always freshly made and is so delicious! Plus all the other sweet bread they have at reasonable price!

Small Bakery tucked in a shopping mall. Wife and I got a cream roll/pillow cake and some moon cake. The red bean with yolk was delicious as was the roll. The prices were a bit high, but not unreasonable. Would like to try some of their other stuff next time since we came a few minutes before they closed.

No matter what I pick up, it will always be good. Even if I don’t know what it is. Never fails to amaze me. Wonderful baked goods

This is a wonderful bakery. The prices can't be beat. We have loved everything we have tried. Savory and sweet, especially the savory, since those can be hard to find at other bakeries. The cashier,the young male, is kind. And the baguettes, for bahn mi,are a wonderful bargain. Can't wait to go again soon.
