Silverlake Family Restaurant

We passed this quiet little town on the way to Watkins Glen park but stopped here on the way back and we’re glad! Food was good and staff were super friendly. Decent portion size and we ended up with takeaway. Had the Gitsis Mixed Plate (Texas Hots and Cheeseburger) - ridiculously good and second only to the original in Rochester. The spaghetti with meatballs, which is apparently made with their own sauce, was also lovely. Salad bar is a nice addition with good options.

We had lunch on Labor Day and belieeeve they were a bit understaffed. We didn’t have a terrible time and we didn’t have a stellar time, it was okay. They weren’t slammed with customers but it was a little hard to get coffee refills. The restaurant was big and bright with lots of windows and friendly staff. The prices were good!

My chicken spinach artichoke wrap was really tasty with a hefty helping of fries. My husband got the beef on weck, looking forward to pickle and waffle chips that were pictured on the menu. His food came with no pickle and a bun with no horseradish (a feature of the meal?) and regular fries, but he’s hard to disappoint and the waitress quickly brought horseradish and it was fine.

Decided to try it for lunch during our travels, food was delicious, menu has a good variety and prices are reasonable. They were able to accommodate a special request, and the server was friendly. My only consideration would be that service is very slow, so don't visit if you are short on time.

They got kids menu, the prices was very good and reasonable. The service was very fast. And the food hit the spot.

Service is great. Large menu. Easy parking and nice atmosphere. Food was fine. Not exceptional. But that was what I expected. I wasn’t hungry when I finished my meal, so my needs were met.
