The new ownership has really turned this place around! After some bad experiences under the old ownership, I avoided this location. After seeing posts about the new ownership, I decided to give it another try and I’m glad I did. The food is always fresh, the service is always quick and friendly, and the ice cream machine has been working every time we order ice cream. The new ownership and the team they have put together is doing an outstanding job!

Does anyone know if you can still reach the river even though there is construction going on? Went there today and want to return tomorrow for a bike ride, but I wasn’t sure if we can still make it down to the river. Thanks in advance!!

Definitely a work in progress, but still a great place for an easy bike ride. Easy access to the Bosque and river and we saw lots of cranes and geese. The painted murals are really neat.

So nice and quiet..not so many people as on other walking/hiking venues. Easy paths to walk.

Nothing is open to the public and you can't drive around the refuge due to construction.
We had a nice walk and saw over 3 dozen Sand Hill Cranes.
Worth the trip.
