Columbus Inn

For a budget friendly hotel, I was impressed!! Front staff was helpful and kind. Room was slightly AC’d when we arrived which was nice after playing softball all day in the heat. Beds were pretty comfy, clean freshly laundered cozy linen. Breakfast was slim picking but none the less - it served its purpose. We’d definitely stay again! Right across the highway to the west is a HUGE fun water park. That’s a perk!

I had a very positive stay. The rooms are very clean and everyone working there is super friendly and looks out for their patrons. They were always there in the morning and with a smile and a friendly “have a good day” as I would head out to work. The rooms are nice as well. I enjoyed the 7 days I stayed there and would stay there again anytime.

Very unhappy with my my stay at this motel, I stayed there three nights and stayed in three different rooms. The third room was finally a good room the second would not lock, you could just walk into the room from the hallway even with the bolt locked on. The house phones didn't work to get ahold of the office staff, to tell of the situation. When I did get ahold of the office worker she got crabby at me because I wanted the door fixed and told her I didn't want to move away from my family in another room. The first room was worse when I checked I found a cockroach in the bathroom.

My wife and I stayed here with our 2 dogs and had a fantastic time. The dog friendly rooms were located on the first floor, close to the back door which leads to the parking lot and 2 large fields so it was super convenient to bring the dogs in and out without running into other people and gave them plenty of space to do their business. The room was clean and the water pressure in the shower put the one in my home to shame.

I also want to compliment the staff, both of the people that I interacted with were very friendly and informed me of everything I needed for the stay.

The location is great, I wasn't familiar with the area so already being on the main road through town made it easy to get everywhere I needed to go. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and even a Hy Vee grocery store with a Starbucks just 5 minutes away.
