Admiral Lake and Pond Restoration

After looking far and wide for aeration solutions for my pond, I narrowed my search to the Admiral Lake and Pond company. I was torn between the JetStream Lake Blower and Admiral fountain. I am glad to say that I purchased both! I have been thrilled with each of them for different reasons. Both products aerate, but I have found that the JetStream has been a powerhouse; wonderful for pushing weeds and algae and muck as well as doing spot-cleaning. The flexibility and mobility it provides is what separates it from other players in the industry. The fountain has created beauty where there was none. A space that used to be a stinky, green, and nasty is now beautiful, especially during the night when we turn the lights on. I have had my units for 1 year now and both are going strong. It isn't often that a product purchase lives up to expectations, but in this case the two products we purchased exceeded our expectations entirely. Not only did the price easily beat the competition, but the quality also exceeds the competition.
I installed our new Admiral Fountain a few months ago and have enjoyed it so much since then, both during the day as it aerates our 1/3 acre pond, and at night with the additional light kit. The lighted fountain is truly spectacular to watch at night with the many colors available and the changing color patterns if desired. After initial tentative interest in getting a fountain for our pond, my spouse had an immediate reaction to the fountain once it was deployed in the pond. She said quite emphatically……. I love it. We really do love it. Best price, best quality, and best service. No brainer decision to buy this fountain, and easy to setup and install myself. The Jetstream product I bought around the same time as my pond fountain, was even a bigger delight for us. I have been looking for this type of product for quite a few years to address excess sediment and weeds around our dock and in our swimming area on the lake at our cabin. I had never even heard of the Jetstream as a truly portable option for cleaning up and clearing our swimming and dock area of weeds and sediment. Most other similar products are exclusively dock-mounted and are limited to just the area around the dock, but the Jetstream has 4 or 5 different attachment options that provide flexibility for how it can be deployed, including a dock mount. Before I used it, I wasn’t sure it would work for me, but a few minutes after my first use, I could see it was moving water and sediment, and debris like a flowing river, pushing it out of swimming and dock area. Truly impressive power. In no time, I could see a smooth sandy bottom through a crystal-clear column of water. I also use a manual specialty product called the Beachroller that works well in tandem by loosening weeds in the path of the powerful Jetstream flow. This product is awesome and shows that Hal knew what he was doing when he designed this piece of gear for this specific purpose. Like everything they sell, it is the best price and the highest quality. Go figure.

I had been considering a fountain purchase for several years now. Over time, I thoroughly researched all of the big names (Kasco, Oase, Scott, etc.) and eventually stumbled upon Admiral. Their fountain immediately stood out due to it's unique design and value proposition. It piqued my curiosity so I went ahead and purchased. After a year or so of use, I couldn't be happier with it; a quality product at a quality price - so rare nowadays!

I thought I'd outline for others the differences I've found between the Admiral and it's competitors in the hopes of saving some folks some time.

Other than value, the big thing is the design. Other competitors use a circular, plastic molded float with a motor attached, really not much variation among them. Admiral caught my eye because of it's completely different float. Supposedly "unsinkable", you can drill through it, run over it with your boat, etc. and it will be just fine, which has been my experience. The float is also guaranteed for life (!) which is the only one to do so to my knowledge. It's a more vertical concept than other fountain's designs, and that reduces the wild fountain spray in waves when compared to the more horizontal designs of it's competitors.

The Admiral fountain has the intake on the side as opposed to the bottom like most other fountains. This is supposed to help with clogging (as well as the fountain's standard filter - another rarity in the industry). So far I haven't had any problems whatsoever with clogging. Another big advantage for Admiral; all fountains comes standard with a 1 horse motor and 100 feet of cord. For some this could be inconvenient as there's no flexibility on the motor size, only 1 horse, but for me was just perfect. Also, cord length can be extended, but I can't imagine anyone complaining about a standard 100 feet of cord!

Admiral makes several fountains off of this "base" unit, unlike others who for the most part make several different models with set characteristics. I enjoyed the flexibility as it felt more customizeable than other options out there. There are several nozzle options, cord lengths, filtration options, you can select between 110v or 220v, etc. An option you don't want to miss is the LED light kit.

The LED kit I got is fantastic - truly beautiful at night, it is very powerful with lots of colors and options, is easy to use, and the remote works from very far away. That was a big plus in my situation. It's very similar to Scott's kit, but much cheaper and of similar high quality which seems to be a common theme for Admiral products. I read on Admiral's website that others had commented on it being the best "bang for the buck" fountain out there and that certainly seems to be true.

The folks at Admiral seem to be aware of this and appear to have found their niche, selling high quality lake and pond products at a great price. I expect them to gain quite the following in the coming years and grow quite a bit if they have the ambition for it. I am very appreciative to them for taking the time to speak to me, explain all options, and provide quality service.

To sum it up, between all of the unique features and additional standard equipment, I've been very impressed with the value I received and felt my search has validated itself. I've loved having a fountain that I don't have to "baby" (0 maintenance required and none given!), and can enjoy day and night, receiving the usual fountain benefits and then some. To anyone out there that's on the fence, I hope this review helps!

Our home is at the end of the lake and the natural flow of the water brings the debris with it. Within10 minutes of running the jet stream the beach area is clear and clean! We absolutely love this product!!!
