River Village Family Restaurant

My friend and I were kayaking from Huroc Park down to Lake Erie, and my friend saw that River Village was on the river, right at the halfway point of our trip, and had a boat launch for us to pull our kayaks out. River Village far surpassed our expectations! Unfortunately, I didn't get his name, but there was a guy outside waiting for other kayakers when we arrived. I'm not sure if he was an owner or manager or what, but he was super friendly and inviting. He even helped me pull my kayak out because he didn't want me to fall on the slippery concrete in the water! Inside, the place was exactly what I expected -- no frills diner with delicious food, big portions, and a huge menu with a wide variety of items to choose from! My friend and I both tried the Greek salad with chicken. At first, the price of the salad seemed a little high once I added chicken and a hard-boiled egg, but, once I saw it, the price made sense: the salad was HUGE!!! Fresh ingredients and delicious chicken! I'm not a really big fan of creamy Greek dressings. Though there's tasted good, I still prefer an oil-based dressing, but that's just a personal preference. I liked my salad so much that I came back the next day, while doing the same paddle with a different friend. I had the same salad + a piece of carrot cake. My friend had the Village Salad + a piece of apple pie, and he was equally impressed with the food and with the kindness of the guy. I really look forward to going back and trying their corned beef hash :) I highly recommend this place for delicious diner food, especially if you're kayaking or canoeing the Huron River, since it's so convenient to stop in and take a break from being in the boat to stretch legs/back and refill on much needed calories for the next 5 miles of paddling :) There's also a gas station right next door, in case you need more snacks or drinks for the rest of the kayak trip.

Best kayak rental best food. Beats any bar in town especially if you’re just getting a six pack going on the river after some food this is the place. Save your money from going to a bar and get yourself some beer in a cooler and get on that river with River Village. These people are good people and work hard. You guys keep up the good work you guys are awesome.

LOVE LOVE this place dine in and or carryout. Food is very good, prices are fair. staff is Great. They messed my carryout one time and compensated me with more then fair for the next time I ordered.

Excellent place to eat with friends or family. Getting greeted by an employee was so respectful. It’s sad that I just knew about this place. I recommend this place to everybody if you want the best dine-in. The most surprising part is their prices are crazy good. Food quality meets the expectation very high, very great tasting food for a great price. Keep up the good work, you will keep on seeking me there multiple times.
