I love this place and all its heroes on all floors! My Mom had to be taken there after a one month stay at the hospital August 2022 and she is still there. I visit every day so I see a lot of what I am sharing here. If you are looking for perfection don’t read anymore I don’t think it exists. The staff do their job and more, which is a very tough job by the way. The aids take the time to dress and feed mom and change her very frequently, thanks to Aurora, Augustina, Tunde, Kaitlyn, Eve, Wamba, Kingsley, Karen, to name a few who go above and beyond every day!! Thank you to the compassionate nurses Delorean and Shirley and KC, Rhonda and Tina who are very professional and give medications on time with a lot of care, mom actually got better because of that. They also check on mom multiple times. The best part, about this facility is that they are generous, that is, if you need new bedsheets or a diaper change they just do it. Also, if I have an issue they quickly fix it and it doesn’t happen again. The head of nurses Tina is on top of things and communicates with me if something comes up. Thank you SKLD for being there for our loved ones and taking good care of them 👍👌👏

Had to visit a client here today. Staff were very polite and helpful. Facility was clean, and had a nice fresh smell. Residents seemed to be well cared for, and the food looked great!

Does SKLD need interior updates? Yes! Could the food be better? Yes! However, it is not a hotel. When it comes to caring for my mother, it is great. My mother was transferred to SKLD from another facility. The difference is like Heaven and Hell. My mother wasn't walking or eating when she arrived, and she had a compression ulcer. She is standing, walking, healing, and doing a few physical things that she could not do before. She has upgraded from pureed food to a regular diet. SKLD has a caring staff. There aren't individuals from temporary agencies coming in and out like a revolving door. My mother's entire care team is attentive, responsive, and keeps me abreast of everything that has to do with her care. Tara and Mayada made her transition smooth. Tina ensured that her medical records were accurate and updated her care plan accordingly. Karen is one of the most patient Aides I have met in this process. Mo and the physical therapy team treats my mother like she is a family member. THIS IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT! SKLD is not perfect, but I trust them with my mother's care.
