My husband and I came to Friedens UCC Church looking for a place to transfer our membership when our church in Cahokia (Bethel United Church of Christ) closed. Jack served as their interim minister back in January 2022, and we decided to check it out as a potential new church home. We were not disappointed, and on Easter Sunday this year, we became members.
What a wonderful new church home for us.
Friedens has an "EXCELLENT congregation" and this is from a former member that moved away from Illinois because of a new employment opportunity. Wonderful caring people with focus on many faith ideals. We are all different so the faith each of us has is also different but with many Christian virtues that are important to us. The United Church of Christ is an open and affirming denomination that allows the congregation to choose what they want to be. "Friedens" in German is Peace. So, PEACE, to Friedens and the world.
