The Soul Asylum

My husband and I visited this museum today and I loved it! I'm more into the oddities of life than my husband but he enjoyed it as well. For a small space it is packed full of interesting things. The owner was there and you can tell he really takes pride in his museum. He was extremely knowledgeable and very nice, easy to talk to. We live about 2 hours away but we will definitely be back!

My husband and I just left the hotels haunted Walking Tour today. We expected to hear some stories and get a little spooked by the eeriness of the hotel's history. We got both, plus way more. We both had real, authentic experiences.
If you decide to go on this tour (which you should!), expect to hear, see, or feel something. Don't make the mistake I did and go in with no real expectations then run out panicking by the end (yes that happened -face palm-)
The history of the hotel is so interesting and the energy is so vibrant. Dave and his team were so knowledgeable, respectful of the "presences" we encountered, and easy going making the hours super enjoyable. We will absolutely be back again!! Would 100% recommend. 10 stars out of 5

This place is awesome. If you like the strange and bizarre this is the place for you. Strange tortures, lock picking, and mysterious forms of hypnotism. Well worth the $8 admission

This place is pretty awesome. They're only open on weekends and it took me several tries over the years to happen across it while it was actually open. $6 cash only. Lots of cool old torture devices and weird gags. If you know or learn how to lockpick you get a free bumper sticker.

Two thumbs up for this museum that boasts a large number of exhibits chronicling human beings' terrible and inventive ways to punish, terrify, chastise, or evoke compliance -- everything from the mild pillory, stocks and dunking stool to the more persuasive burning of witches to iron maidens. My favorite is an authentic metal chastity belt with big, nasty teeth. (PS it is housed inside the Mineral Springs Mall.)
