Went to get help separately from my significant other that I had recently broken up with. Apparently the conflict of interest made it an issue to get his counseling and guidance which was understandable until I was told there are no referrals. The only mental health advocate I have met to not be able to tell someone who obviously needs help where to go next. This is why people who look for help stop looking entirely.

Therapy won't be effective if you don't have the right bond and or trust with your therapist from the beginning. My family took in a child that was not biologically ours with a lot of emotional distress and prone to habitual lying. We did not know how to help this helpless child and still keep the integrity of our home. I called several therapists and preinterviewed them over the phone. I was not going to just hand my family over to anyone with a fancy degree and hope they could help us. I was looking for the right therapist with the right degrees but also with the right experiences and knowledge. I was not going to be persuaded or SOLD by the first person I connected to over the phone. I know a phone conversation isn't the same as face to face interview. Dr. Knight with Coastal Care Counseling was the right fit for my family. He was very gracious over the phone and willing for me to stop by, meet him in person and preview his office surroundings. Dr. Knight was able to help us individually and as a family. This was a delicate process revealing life mistakes, faults, insecurities and understanding it was possible a child could undermine and destroy the balance and sanity of a home. At the end of my personal sessions, I felt I had a vulnerability hangover. It gave me great comfort to know I selected Dr. Knight who is non-judgmental, caring and willing to go at the pace my family needed. There were times we needed him weekly. There were times we needed him monthly. There were months we didn't need his services at all. Dr.Knight never made us feel ashamed as parents or made us commit to a schedule that would overwhelm us emotionally and financially. I am so grateful for Dr. Knight showing us the difference between enabling and empowering. I highly recommend Dr. Knight with Coastal Care Counseling he was a divine intervention for my family and happy to refer his services.

Rewind to about a year ago and you would see a shell of the man in front of this monitor. Life itself was just a series of uneventful motions for me. My day to day would amount to two words: ubiquitous meaninglessness, I was akin to zombie out of a popular T.V. series. Meeting Dr. Knight changed all of that for me. I was at first very hesitant, with a looming, stereotypical fear that seeking help would just amount to filling a prescription. To my surprise Dr. Knight was the very antithesis of my generalized perception. Dr. Knight not only helped me identify my problems, but gave me great insight as to how my case manifested to its severe state. Dr. Knight also saved me from the misconceptions I had in regards to my own self. Thanks to these factors, and the help of natural nutraceuticals I am starting a whole new chapter in my life.
