The dance teachers are BEST. They go steady pace for students. The staff are WONDERFUL. They are helpful with new people and welcoming to communities in Sacramento County. The managers are GOOD. On social dance nights, the dance studio is filled with attractions and fun. The regular people are kind and great.

I've taken lindy hop, Balboa, west coast swing, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, and several other group classes. The instructors are patient and passionate about what they are teaching. Students rotate partners so that we can get a feel for how different people dance, and if you don't come in with a partner you can still join in. This is also true for the social dances. You don't need to bring a partner, and the beginner friendly class rotates partners so everyone can learn.
The private lessons have been incredibly helpful for improving technique and getting a more detailed look into how to improve my skills. I have grown as a person and as a dancer!
The best part of this warm and welcoming place is that the people I've met have become like an extension of my family!

I started ballroom dancing with spotlight teachers since 2018 and I don't regret any time or penny spent there :)
Everyone is super friendly and welcoming and experienced. I met so many wonderful teachers and dancer. The more I go, the more I dance, the more I learn, so more "a family" they become to me. If you're in the Sacramento/Davis area or even just visiting, Spotlight Ballroom is definitely a place to check, to visit, and to meet cool people :)
