When he is working with you, he is the best surgeon and person. He genuinely cares about all of his patients, and you immediately put your trust in him. I needed breast reconstruction due to cancer, and he explained all of my options and dangers. I would suggest him to anyone who needs breast reconstruction.

Dr. Belek is not only a great surgeon, he is also a great person. I went to see a dermatologist last week for a skin cancer on my back. The cancer was so big that the dermatologist recommended immediate surgery. He called Dr. Belek and he agreed to drive from Marin County to Berkeley to see me immediately. I was shocked. Doctors don't do that. 45 minutes later i was talking to Dr. Belek in the office. This was a Wednesday afternoon. He arranged to check me into Alta Bates on Thursday and the surgery was Friday morning. Skin cancer is gone. Back is healing nicely. I would recommend Dr. Belek to anyone I know. I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Belek. He is not only a skilled and excellent surgeon with a great eye for aesthetics, he is also very easy to communicate with and he really listens to his patients' concerns and desires. Dr. Belek is so caring, with a calm and reassuring disposition and he really goes above and beyond for his patients. Just an example...my 4 year old daughter recently had an accident at school which gave her a long cut above her eyebrow. I knew I wanted a skilled plastic surgeon to stitch her wound so that there would be minimal scarring. Dr. Belek was out of the office the day it happened but he made a huge effort to meet me at his office so that he could take care of us and precisely stitch her cut. I highly recommend Dr. Belek to anyone considering plastic surgery and wish more doctors were like him.
