Since finding Dustin, I ALWAYS look forward to a haircut to refresh my hair.

Like with most people on the curly hair spectrum, I used to dread haircuts. I already struggled with styling and managing my hair, and when stepping into salons, the request to cut curly hair would often feel treated as a fun experiment. For years, I’d leave salons feeling disappointed and self-conscious.

After coming to Dustin over the past 2 years, I’ve genuinely turned a corner with my relationship to my hair. He connects with his clients authentically, and made an often stressful experience one I can relax and feel confident in. I feel completely heard when it comes to my hair concerns, and comfortable asking questions or for advice on styling and techniques to better manage my hair by myself.

And each visit feels better and better! I wholeheartedly recommend giving Dustin a shot!!

I had my first curly cut with Dustin and loved my experience. My hair has gone from curly to straight to wavy over the course of my life and now back to tighter waves. I started leaning into the curly girl method about 6 months ago and have been working on hair health (after having dyed and using heat for some time) and was apprehensive about jumping into curly cut.

But I am so glad I did. Dustin was very punctual in our appointment, the location easy to find, and he opts for a great salon quality line that has products for all tightness and textures of curls (even better it's color coded) - it's what he uses and showed me how to style my hair for both air dry and for diffusing. Because I am a bit newer to doing my hair curly, I have text him pictures a few times with asking for help and he has been very kind and given me pointers.

My hair is still recovering from damage, and he told me after 3 cuts (like 6-8 months) hair really responds well.

He is a very kind man who genuinely likes humans and helping people embrace their natural features and enhancing them to magnify people's individual and unique features. When I asked why/how he got into curly cuts, he told me he thinks it is so neat how curly hair can hold so much personality and also heritage of people's backgrounds and loves when people like to enhance their natural features.

Price is very reasonable for services provided and am stoked to see how my hair looks after a few months!

Let me start by saying that finding someone who truly knows how to cut and style my curls has been a journey filled with frustration and disappointment. However, my search came to an end when I discovered Hair Bungalow in Long Beach, and more importantly, the incredible talent of Dustin.

I saw all the reviews and pictures (I will post my before-and-after pictures in the morning). They were not wrong or exaggerating in the slightest.

This was the first time I had grown my hair out this long, and navigating how to wear it and the upkeep has been a struggle bus express. But with his expertise and passion for curls, Dustin proved to be a true savior. From the moment I reached out to him, I knew I was in good hands. Not only did he listen attentively to my concerns and preferences, but he also shared invaluable insights and tips on caring for my curls.
I like to think of Dustin as the Encyclopedia Britannica on curl theory.

Dustin is AMAZING! He gave me my first curly cut and I am obsessed with my fresh new look!! Dustin made my first experience so memorable with his kind heart and gentle soul. You feel like you've known him for years within minutes of meeting him. He is extremely knowledgeable about curls and gave me tons of pointers on how to care for my hair. He made my first appointment with him an incredible experience. i had never gotten a curly haircut before and this is the beginning of my journey learning how to care for my hair. Dustin went above and beyond in his work, as someone who loves knowing what’s going on he walked me through every step of the process and empowered me with the tools to be able to style and care for my hair. just i CANNOT speak higher praises. i cannot wait for my next appointment and yeah! 10/10 recommend Dustin and if you’re looking for a stylist he is everything and more!
