(November 28, 2018, 1:34 pm)Most people who visit Farthing Downs go there for the beautiful countryside and magnificent views. But not many people know that the downs are covered in traces of ancient history, including one of the oldest roads in Britain.
So last time I visited, I followed the Farthing Downs Trail (you can download the booklet from the City of London website) and learnt more about the Saxon round barrows and the Celtic field system.

(September 19, 2018, 11:34 am)Farthing Downs and Happy Valley are simply magical. Suitable for energetic walks with sturdy boots, it has some amazing views, across fields and into the valley itself. An absolutely beautiful place. It's not very busy so you get some peace and quiet.
